“Place with Character”
It was refreshing to stay at a place that wasn't like every other hotel. Reasonably priced.
“Old hotel that badly needs updating to compete with other nearby hotels.”
Staying here was good and bad. Good: Location, quietness, nice trees and grounds, decent rate, clean room service, people were friendly and helpful. Bad: Old tired decor, needs updating badly, air conditioner didn't work great, kind of dark, realizing it is a historical property to the area, they need to freshen it all up to the great place it once was. When telling locals that we were staying there we were asked, "oh, really? Why?"
“Theme done right”
The Most Charming hotel EVER. Old Bavarian hunting lodge theme done VERY WELL Stained, leaded and beveled glass everywhere Antiques everywhere and upholstered walls
“Will never go back.”
We have stayed there on several trips in the past and were very happy with it. The rooms were awful along with the food. I had bragged this hotel up with my fellow co workers and was disappointed to say the least. I will also make sure that all of my friends and other employees of our orginazation are also aware of the state of affairs of this hotel. This hotel either needs to have new owners or razed.
“Old, in need of refurbishing”
This hotel has not been renovated/remodeled since opening. I wanted character but got dirty carpets, icky bed linens, flat pillows and iceberg lettuce from room service. The fabric on the desk chair at check in was shredded! Not a good sign for things to come. Staff pleasant and service was prompt.
“Have to appreciate what it was.....great feel.”
Love the lodge feel..............but update it!!
“Bavarian Charm”
We had fun in this Bavarian style, not-just-a-box hotel. Fireplaces going in several places were beautiful in winter. We ate dinner in the restuarnt and found salmon particularly good. If you knew the Jumer hotels, you'd find this a good one. Quiet, heat, bathroom and beds are all good. Also - we returned the next day and found the housekeeping staff had our new, lost cell phone found for us. We appreciated that!
“Classic, comfortable stay”
My wife, myself, and our 21 month old son had a wonderful time at The Lodge. The hotel and room was clean and comfortable, and service at the desk as well as room service was friendly and prompt. The hotel has an older look and feel, which was refreshing. We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The only small negative was that we requested a microwave in the room, and it was not there. They were not able to provide one in our room, but we were able to use one at the front desk. My one suggestion would be to have microwaves in all rooms. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely stay again in the future. And don't forget to try the cinnamon rolls from the restaurant....outstanding!
“Good Stay”
Hotel was good. Rooms were kind of small. Pool/hot tub area was very nice. The surrounding area was great, nothing was too far away.
“The Lodge”
The stay was an enjoyable experience. When first viewed you could tell that in it's hayday this hotel was very grand and elite. Time has of course taken its toll on this grand lady but she is still of lady of grandure. The room was comfortable and clean and met our needs. The staff was courteous, friendly, and helpfull. I was pleased with check-out time of NOON. I have verbally spread my satisfaction and would consider staying again when in the area.
