Does not meet standards of Best Western

Posted Jul 30, 2015
Pros: Not much.
Cons: Air conditioning and attitude of some staff members.
Location: Restaurants nearby were good, close to market and pharmacy, but not really close to Venice itself.
My experience with Best Western hotels have generally been reliable in providing the basic amenities of cleanliness, decent customer service, and functioning features, but this one did not meet its mark, and was quite disappointing. Venice is very hot in the summer, and air conditioning is essential, but their A/C was weak with no cool air or fan despite running it all day/night. Next, you'll find that their carpet looked dirty and felt moist (thank goodness I had flip-flops!), and staff did not all speak English very well which made communication slightly challenging at times. One staff at the front desk who did speak English was just outright rude, short and impatient, and gave information out without ever giving any eye contact or ensuring that one understood it. Bathroom for some reason just gave the impression that it was not very clean. Overall, this hotel just felt like it didn't meet its normal standards or value with no free breakfast or free airport shuttle service. Everything was an additional fee (not very reasonable either). My advice: Go book elsewhere as location was a bit far from Venice, and for the money you spend on the train to get to/from Venice, you might as well spend it on a nicer/closer hotel.

Angenehmes Hotel für einen kurzen Aufenthalt

Posted Jul 27, 2015

Unexpected charges, Mixed Staff, No Air Condition

Posted Jul 25, 2015
Pros: Terrible service, they don't care about the customer - the answer is that happens there is nothing we can do. Unexpected charges
Cons: Ability to accept a mistake when it is their fault and to offer a compromise. Expect better customer service.
Location: Supermarket behind the hotel. Good to pick up food, snacks and water at a fraction of the cost. Good walk to station
Checked in and booked the FREE shuttle to the airport. I asked and was told no charges would apply for the shuttle bus just the city tax to pay. Staff was very nice and helpful. They gave a timetable of the trains to and from Venice. The station is 10 minutes to walk and the trains are regular to Venice. Air conditioning was not working in July 2015 so the room was very uncomfortable - but we did not complain. In the morning I was charged the city tax and quite a lot for the shuttle bus to the airport. The staff that day was rude and I was told that he knew about the air conditioning and their was nothing he could do and that the staff in the morning made a mistake and again nothing he can do. When I sowed him a screen shot of the FREE SHUTTLE BUS he said the Free shuttle bus is not FREE to EXPEDIA CUSTOMERS only to the Hotel customers who book direct. I was angry we had to pay for a FREE shuttle bus that was available to some guests only and the fact we were told it was free to us in the morning.

Dear Sirs, we are really sorry for the inconvenience. We try to offer our best everyday. We apologize for the experience that you spent in our hotel. Unfortunately we order immediately a new machine for the a.c. but we are on july and, you know, a lot of agencies are on Holiday and now we are waiting for the new one. About the staff, I'll try to investigate what happened with them, normally they tried to satisfy all the request and to be courteous with everybody. Thank you for your comment, it's very important for us.

Great for a quick stop in Venice

Posted Jul 23, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Comfort, maybe an extra pillow on the bed.
Location: 10 minute walk to the train station then 25 minute ride in to Venice where the canal is.
We stayed here for two nights on our way to Slovenia. The staff were very helpful and really assisted our every need. The room was small but enough to sleep in. The breakfast was adequate and it was close to a supermarket and restaurant. The thing I liked most about his hotel is it was close to the airport and close to a train station ( walking distance) and they sold train tickets at the hotel.

Julia at Reception was professional, cordial and efficient. She was very busy but found the time to help me print train tickets. We will return to this hotel.

Does what it says on the tin

Posted Jul 21, 2015
It wasn't the nicest hotel in the world. Or the most modern. The breakfast buffet was very simple. If you are looking for a nice hotel then I wouldn't recommend it. However, if you need a place to stay a night after a long journey. Or somewhere from which to commute to Venice. It is perfect. Very clean and comfortable enough, with a very good breakfast buffet. The shuttle provided is a great help, but make sure you arrange it with the hotel prior to arrival, we were alone on our journey and got the feeling it may not have turned up had I not emails them.
