Nice hotel

Posted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: The hotel is conveniently located not far from all major attractions of Quebec City. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean.
Cons: We were excited about the pool in the hotel, but used it only once. Unfortunately the smell on chlorine in the pool area was to strong.
Location: The hotel is conveniently located in a business district of Quebec. Nearby is the University of Quebec, a library, a lot of restaurants, shops.
I traveled with my Mom and my daughter to Quebec City. We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. It is a nice hotel which is located at about 20 min. walking distance to the Old City.

Good choice downtown

Posted Aug 22, 2014
Pros: Our corner room was huge!
Cons: The free wi-fi was horrible. It kept dropping the connection forcing me to reconnect several times. Frustrating and useless.
Our experience at this hotel was mostly positive. Checking in was hassle free and the staff was attentive to our cars. One of the 2 elevators was out of order so that was unfortunate, but we opted for exercise via the stairs and that was fine. We were only on the 3rd floor. Location was about 15 min walk to the Old City so I was happy about that. Quebec City should be walked. The quality of wi-fi was rather poor and I've noticed this at other hotels I've stayed at in Canada. Became impossible to use. Like a lot of Quebec City, the lobby and restaurant had some nice style.

Hotel is within walking distance of Old Quebec.

Corridors in the lobby are narrow and crowded, 2 elevators and one was out of service. Vending machines which narrowed the lobby were not working. Rooms were comfortable and clean.

Pros: I like the breakfast for its varied selection and reasonable price
This hotel is within walking distance from the train station without climbing up hills. Although it is not in the center of the old part of the city, it is close enough and I think for the price I paid I was fully satisfied.

Bonjour, Thank you very much for this very positive review on your stay at the Best Western Plus City Centre Quebec. I appreciate that you took the time to post it. Your feedback is appreciated. Indeed, our great location offers a good opportunity to visit the Old Quebec City for all travelers, as well as the Old port of Quebec and more local areas as the St-Joseph Street. Even for those who do not want to walk or drive, the Old Quebec City is easy to reach using the public transportation. For only 3$ per person, and couple of steps to reach the corner of the street, you will get directly to the Old Québec City without any problem! I am also very glad to read that you enjoyed our full American breakfast. Two options are offered to our guest. First, the full American buffet composed of hot and cold items, as well as an “A la carte” Menu. Again, thank you very much for taking the time to write this review. The hotel is very dated and smelly

The hotel is very dated and smelly, stuff is nice though. The pool is very small and shallow, just for kids. No regular parking, only valet parking for $25 extra, which doesn't worth the experience

Bonjour, Thank you for your comments concerning your stay at the Best Western Plus City Centre Quebec. I appreciate that you took the time to post them. Concerning your comments on our decor, I would like to specify that even if we continually renew our decor, facilities and services, our style is rather conservative and classic. Travelers who are looking for a specific hotel class and/or hotel brand will be glad to learn that Best Western hotels in North America has been divided in 3 different banners to better suit guests expectations; “Best Western”, “Best Western Plus” and “Best Western Premier”. “Best Western” properties are those with amenities and characteristics for guests seeking more than satisfaction of basic travel needs, “Best Western Plus” are those providing guests with a more upscale experience emphasizing consistency of concept throughout and “Best Western Premier” are the properties possessing a conspicuous atmosphere of refinement and style. Here’s one last tip: looking at as many pictures as you can prior booking a hotel is a good way to see ahead the general feel of one property. We have many photos available on several websites. Also, as you mentioned, we effectively offer a valet parking which is 24$ plus taxes per night and is in and out privileges. This kind of parking is a must in Quebec City due to the fact that streets are really small and there is no much self-parking and parking lots in the Downtown area. The valet parking is then the easiest and even, usually, the cheapest way to park. Moreover, if you prefer to be free of mind, you may always try the bus or train facilities. We are within 10 minutes walking distance from the bus and train terminal and it gives you the chance to know Quebec City from a different angle. To conclude, it was a true pleasure to have you stay with us and we hope you will visit us again at the Best Western Plus City Centre Quebec the next time you are in Quebec City. Best regards.
