Historic Hotel

Pros: Location
Cons: Major update to the rooms is required
Location: Everything is in walking distance
Overall the experience was nice however, the hotel needs a major renovation. The bathrooms are small, the carpets old, the beds too soft, the air condition is 30 years old. The location is great, the hotel is iconic, but I am sure you can get something more modern for the same price.

Pros: The granduer
Cons: More common facilities -- Everything seemed hidden from all those except Fairmount Club Members
Hotel is over-rated. Expedia Rooms are second rate.

Best hotel in Quebec

Visited Quebec for our wedding anniversary and the Ch√Ęteau Frontenac was recommended by a friend. The hotel was more than we expected. Nice, clean, great staff. The location is perfect

Great historic hotel in the center of everything

Pros: The location is fantastic. Our room was in the Maxwell Tower, and even though it faced the central courtyard the view was spectacular.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: It is close to everything. We walked to the Marche du Vieux Port, which looks distant on a map but was really only a 10-15 minute walk.
As a family of four with two children under 12, the Fairmont Chateau Frontenac was the perfect home base for our visit to Quebec. We walked to all the historic and cultural sites from the hotel, including the Citadel, the Marche du Vieux Port, and the lower part of the town. There were many good restaurants that were not too distant from the hotel. Its convenient location allowed us to visit places during the day, return to the hotel to freshen up in the late afternoon, and then stroll through the city again in the evening. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool had a small wading area for children. The hotel is more "kid-friendly" than one might think. If you like historic hotels, do not miss the Chateau Frontenac!

Beautiful hotel in a perfect location

The hotel is very nice, we were in a renovated room which was large and very comfortable. Nothing beats the location of the hotel..there isn't another option for hotel location in Quebec City so if location is important to you, then spend the money and stay here. Quebec City can be quite hilly so being pregnant, I was happy we stayed in a convenient location otherwise I would have tired quickly. I didn't give the hotel a 5/5 because when we arrived at 4pm our room was not ready until 630pm! (we specifically took an early flight so we could check-in at 4, which is the check-in time the hotel has posted, and still have majority of the day).

The way to do quebec

Location: Best shopping, arts and entertainment, quaint city so similar to France and of course Paillards!

Great location

Small room and even tinier bathroom. Three major weddings when we were there so couldn't get into restaurant for breakfast. Gym was decent. Staff very nice.
