Charming hotel in old town.

Posted Aug 4, 2015
Great location but no elevator. Anyone with a problem climbing stairs should request 1st floor. Efficient, but not very friendly staff.

Lovely hotel!

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Many of the staff spoke English which made it much easier for us to communicate. It was always clean, and we had a lovely room with a jacuzzi tub.
Cons: I'm not sure if I should have realized there were no elevators, but being on the fifth floor carrying baggage up a 300+ year old staircase was hard.
Location: Great location! A few blocks walk from the center of 'old town', but we appreciated how it was quieter.
We loved the idea of being in the 'old town' of Quebec and this hotel did not disappoint! The flowers on the outside and the room on the inside were exactly what we were looking for as a get away from city life. Through our window we could hear the horse hooves as the carriages made their way around the city, and it had a great location to the Citadel and wall!

Solid value in the right location

Posted Jul 19, 2015
Hotel Acadia had a definite 3 star European feel. Getting to the bathrooms from the lobby involved down the hall, turn right, turn right, up short flight of stairs, down a short flight, turn left, then down a longer flight, like a lot of places where I've stayed in Britain. The room was quite good, spacious and comfortable, with old stone walls. The lobby is small and not at all fancy. The location was good, in old town near the sights. It was directly across the street from our greatest surprise of our trip, the restaurant Le Saint Amour, a wonderful place with great food hidden behind a rather bland street front. Don't expect to be staying in a Regency Hotel or the like, but if you like good rooms at a value price and do not need a fancy lobby, try the Acadia. Just don't spend 10$ Canadian on the off site breakfast buffet- it was VERY weak.

Dirty and broken

Posted Jul 19, 2015
A dingy room in the basement of this hotel was far from our expectation considering the price. Horribly dirty room with broken floor tiles and uncomfortable bed. Avoid this place.

Excellent location. Vintage space.

Posted Jul 16, 2015
Exactly what i expected for a vintage hotel. Not cookie cutter by any means. If you expect perfect -don't stay in vintage space. Rooms were as pictures promised. We stayed in a basement room --- friends on second floor. Beds were awesome. Rooms were clean. Very happy.

Charming hotel in great location

Posted Jul 10, 2015
Pros: location, charm, comfort
Location: Great location to explore all the attractions of Old Town Quebec.
My fiancé and I wanted to explore Old Town in Quebec City and we are so glad that we booked this hotel! It is in a great location and all the attractions of Old Town are walking distance from the hotel. The hotel room was really charming and maintained the ambiance of Old Town. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. Our stay was really nice and I would certainly recommend it for travelling couples and single travellers. The walls were a little thin and the building is quite old and sometimes you could hear people talking or the floorboard creaking, but if you are a light sleeper or wear earplugs, you won't even notice it.

Charming hotel in the vieux quartier

Posted Jul 8, 2015
Pros: The location and staff are great.
Cons: Better lighting in the room.
Location: Quebec is a charming city to just explore and people watch. Lots of choices for restaurants. Interesting museums. Le vieux marché offers local foods.
The jacuzzi on the roof is fun! The breakfast buffet is ample and good value for the $10 charge. The staff is wonderful! The location makes for easy access to both upper and lower Quebec. There is no elevator because of the restrictions to heritage buildings. The stairs to the upper levels are steep but one of the staff helped me carry my suitcase up. The lighting in the room was not very bright if you are a reader at night. Bring a head lamp! There is a pleasant deck in the back to enjoy a quiet moment or drink.

Great customer service

Posted Jul 6, 2015
Location: It's ideally located within walking distance to everything in Old Quebec City. Lots of shopping and restaurants. Definitely walk around downtown.
We had a weird shower with some issues getting not boiling water. So, we asked the front desk about it and were eventually able to get a different room--which was bigger (2 beds and a small living area) and 2 free breakfast buffets. Great customer service. Overall, good service, clean rooms--I recommend this place. It's ideally located within walking distance to everything in Old Quebec City.
