Charming stay in old Quebec

Posted Nov 19, 2014
I recently visited Quebec City to attend a conference and spent 3 nights at the Hotel Acadia. The room we were given was on the main floor, right beside the staircase. We found it to be quite noisy in the morning. The room was very small with barely enough room to open a suitcase on the floor. The room was equipt with an old, tiny tube TV and thin, small bath towels. Overall the room was acceptable but nothing special. Asked to upgrade on the first day but they were booked for the rest of the week. Disappointing since we had the chance to see one of the suites on the top floor which was luxurious and spacious in comparison. If I return I will definitely request one of these suites and avoid the main floor.

close to amenities. staff were not very friendly

Posted Nov 13, 2014
Pros: cute and close to nice restaurants
Cons: staff service - two coffees in room should not have to pay for second one since there is no place to go in this hotel
Location: shopping, walking, restaurants tours
liked the hotel and the location. Hot tub was not available at convenient times. I do not think staff want people to use it. I had to probe them to find out if I could use it

Great locati9n, nice staffs. But the room temperature was not adjustable, so it was a little chilly in mid October.

Comfortable place to stay in Old Quebec.

Posted Sep 30, 2014
Pros: Location to all the sites within walking distance.
Cons: Parking should be offered at no additional charge.
Location: Museum, shopping and the parliament building.
Staff was helpful, spoke English. Front desk did not have enough staff checking in or checking out.

Nice clean room but tiny washroom

Posted Sep 17, 2014
Location: Quebec Congress centre, Parliament building is about 10 min walk; so is St. Lawrence river
The hotel is walking distance to the eateries and some fascinations. Its safe and people are quite warm. This was my first experience in a boutique hotel like this. Even though tiny facilities but good comfortable bed.

Nice but small

Posted Sep 16, 2014
Pros: The room was well done albeit tight. The people we met were very nice and helpful.
Cons: The housekeeping. It needs to be consistent. I realize it was a busy weekend, but...
Location: Great location. Cannot complain at all about that. Close to the main streets of Old Quebec.
Very nice reception when we arrived. The hotel staff were quite friendly and helpful. The room is somewhat tight as it is small, but it is workable. The hotel is an old building so one needs to be prepared for a long walk to the ice machine. Perhaps a little fridge would be an idea beside the sink. I was quite put off with the housekeeping service on the Saturday of our stay as the bed looked like it had been thrown together, and not well. The housekeeping in general needs some attention as it is inconsistent. One day you will get toiletry supplies replenished, the next day you will not. I will say though, that the front desk staff and the valet staff were very good and quite pleasant. There is some ingenuity used in the decoration with the use of the brick wall. Nice touch!

Very good location

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: An elevator and air conditioning that did not keep us awake all night!
No elevator to the 5th floor. Air conditioning very loud all night. We were moved the second night to room 212 on the main floor which was a great improvement.

They Do Not Know What Customer Service Is

Posted Sep 12, 2014
Pros: Nice appointments even in the cheap rooms
Cons: Staff attitude and training. Tell me what you are going then do what you say.
Small but nice room. Booked one night on line...program would not let me book 2 which I wanted. Desk clerk told me room was available the next day but would not book it then. Told me I would have to check and then check in the next day but it would not be a problem. Went to check in the next morning and the clerk said room was booked and would not be available to me. In fact the entire hotel was booked and I would have to move to another of their hotels in Quebec. She said the other clerk made a mistake and I was out of luck. Attitude was very poor. Would not recommend this hotel! .
