Perfect!Posted Nov 10, 2014
A family of 4 from Australia doing a 4 week road trip - and this was my favourite hotel! Perfect location in the old city - we walked everywhere (including up and around the Citadel). There's a restaurant downstairs, irish pub next door, plenty of things nearby. The staff were lovely, the hotel itself is very clean and modern with these beautiful exposed brick walls. There's a nice lounge with books, board games and an open fire. The room was very large and very clean, comfy beds. Parking is in an underground lot about 50m away, for an extra fee, but that's pretty standard. I'll be back in Quebec and I'll certainly be back here again!

A quick getaway to beautiful Quebec CityPosted Oct 29, 2014
Pros: The attractive, well kept and comfortable rooms are nice sized and there is good access to shopping, museums and galleries in the old city.
Cons: It would be nice to have a little more available at breakfast time
Location: Tons of great shopping, museums, nice places to eat and cultural/historical buildings and information. The hotel is perfectly located.
The Hotel du Vieux is perfectly located for those who want to be in the "old city" of Quebec without "old" defining the condition of the hotel you stay in. This is a lovely small hotel, immaculately kept, with very comfortably sized, clean rooms and wonderful beds. The staff were very helpful, and there is a nice sitting area with 24 hr. coffee and tea available. Just a short walk up the hill towards the Frontenac or down into the original settlement at the river's edge. They serve croissants in your room if you wish, or there is a nice little breakfast place just up a block from the hotel if you want more than Continental. We would absolutely return there.

Just wonderful in every wayPosted Aug 7, 2014
Pros: Everything! Staff, lounge, that it's green.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind!
Location: Right in the center of old Quebec City. Close to everything.
Excellent stay. Some of the things we especially liked: the lounge - it's quiet and relaxing and really made the hotel feel like home, the tea and coffee and fruit at the lounge are also just lovely. The rooms are great -- just what you'd expect for the price . The breakfast is, in my view, an excellent deal: you get an enormous amount of food (especially huge tasty croissant and pastry) for 10 bucks. Finally, the staff are just perfect: always there to help, very friendly, but also appropriately low-key and down-to-earth. This is a no-stress, you will feel like you are home kind of a hotel. One last thing: you wouldn't know it from the outside, but this hotel is super green: minimal carbon footprint. (You can read about their solar panels and roof garden in the hotel description.) I loved this aspect. For example, they offer filtered water at the lounge and this was especially nice for me since I always carry around my stainless steel bottle; also they had minimal paper cups, but lots of real ceramic dishes, which was also awesome. I will be coming back and recommending it to everyone!
