“Too bad there is only one PUR. Enjoyed staying there!”

Stayed at PUR last week at the 15th Floor. The view was great. Slept with the window curtain opened all night to enjoy the view. The room was clean. Service was great. The king size bed was comfortable. It will take about 25min to walk to old Quebec but could be tiring, Taxi stand is right in front of hotel and cost about CAD10 from the hotel to old Quebec. The hotel also has a great swimming pool. If you like to try something different then this modern and chic hotel is for you!

“Would love to stay again”

The Hotel itself has a very modern feel. Our room was comfortable for two and had a great view. There are a variety of good restaurants nearby, but it is also not far from the old part of the city. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to those of us whose do not speak any French. The hotel restaurant was also very nice. The walk to the upper part of old town is a bit of a hike, but there is an elevator at the top of Couronne that gets you most of the way to the top of the hill.

“Too far from Old/New City; Staff unattentive; Decor dated; Small room”

Would not recommend unless you were trying to save money and liked walking 20 minutes to the beautiful parts of the city

“Great Hotel!”

Staying at Hotel PUR was great! The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is located in a neighborhood full of shops, restaurants and pubs and the walk to Old Quebec was short (took only 20 minutes or so). There is also a brewery and supermarket nearby. There is a very cool swimming pool on the 3rd floor next to the fitness center. The room is decorated nicely and is very clean. The only issue I had was with the smell of the room. It was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but it stunk of old rotten cigarettes. Not a pleasant smell! But, despite the room stench, it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend this hotel!

“Very nice hotel facility”

Friendly English speaking at the front desk and car parking. Very nice pool. gym typical small hotel gym but they did have ellipticals and bikes. just barbells for weights. Free cappuchino, espresso coffee machine in lobby was much appreciated. Small but nice room with comfortable bed, ipod radio dock, small safe for valuables. Reasonable parking rates.

“Quebec City Winner”

Drove from Montreal to Quebec City. Chic trendy hotel. Expedia pictures are accurate & reflect the accommodations. Our room had a fantastic view. Rooms are a bit small but nicely done. Hotel staff very helpful. Complimentary Espresso/Capuccino maker in the lobby was nice but would have preferred an in-room coffee maker too. Indoor Pool & gym are great. Convenient location not too far from train station & freeway access. Lots of shopping & nice restaurants nearby. Reasonable daily parking fee. Walked most everywhere (Old Quebec/Frontenac) within 30 minutes instead of driving. 10 minute drive to the Citadel.

“Great experience!”

We had to wait for our room-because we arived early but the cafe next door to the hotel was just very cozy and perfect. I didn't like the delay at check in but I loved their friendliness and the fact that they spoke both English and French. Stephen from Concierge/Parking was really helpful. No extra hotel taxes/charges on the bill- like Expedia might mention prior to booking. The pool is great! They have a sauna too! It was just an great experience overall!

Area recommendations

I would recommend visiting the Montmorency Falls a few minutes drive from the hotel- amazing, pitoresque views- aside from the great turisting points in the city (the Old City etc).

What to pack

Swimming suit- for hotel's excellent swimming pool Boots and autum clothing- fall evenings are really cold.

“Outstanding modern design hotel”

A defrocked 18-story Holiday Inn, believe it or not, in the heart of Quebec's upcoming trendy St. Roche district. Very modernistic re-furbished, ultra-clean rooms with excellent views of the city. One big issue - the very nice restaurant and bar/club is still only open for breakfast. Room service other times. Told that it will be open in the evening soon. My secret hideaway in Quebec. Don't tell anyone.

Area recommendations

St. Roche is up and coming as Quebec's "hip town" but maybe it's not quite there yet. Pretty good, though.

“Definitely would recommend”

All personnel in the hotel were extremely friendly. The airline lost our luggage and the hotel was very accomadating to us. They seemed to recognize us and we were greeted each time we entered the hotel. The room was as seen in the pictures on line. The hotel was located in a nice neighborhood with dining options. The hotel is approximately a 20-30 minute walk to old town. I would recommend and would not hesitate to stay there in the future.
