Good base to explore New York

Posted Sep 6, 2014
Pros: We liked the proximity to the 7 line which gave us access to Times Square in about 25 minutes and the tennis in less than that. The room was clean.
Cons: The ice machine could be moved away from the rooms.
We chose this hotel based on its relative rate and proximity to JFK, Times Square and the tennis. We stayed for five nights. The hotel served its purpose. It was only a few minutes walk to the station. As a bonus you can see the Empire State Building as you exit the hotel. There is no elevator at the station so it may not suit those that need one for their luggage. Around the station there are a number of convenience stores and restaurants. Of most use was the laundromat. The neighbourhood did not pose any safety issues for us. The reception staff were a mixed bag in terms of friendliness and helpfulness. Our second floor room had a musty smell when we came back each night but fortunately we had a window and it didn't take long to air it out. It was otherwise clean and functional. We found the mattress comfortable and the pressure in the shower was good. The ice machine outside the second floor room made a lot of noise and we considered moving rooms but kind of got used to it. The breakfast was basic but we found some items to our liking. The area accommodated about 10 people but we are early risers so this was not a problem.Overall we would stay again.

Nice hotel near LaGuardia airport

Pros: Friendly Staff
Cons: More room for breakfast. If breakfast area is full you can always have it in tour room.
Great friendly staff. No problem with late check in. Comfortable rooms

Convenient location

Great hotel if you are on a budget looking for somewhere to sleep. Good connection to Manhattan via subway just around the corner. Friendly staff and good size room. The only downsize is breakfast area- too small for all the guests to sit down but we took our breakfast to our room.

Great hotel close to subway!

A We had a wonderful corner room, with a great view of Manhattan skyline. Very clean. Took an hour to connect to the WiFi at fist but no problem afterwards. Breakfast was really good, plenty of food, but not a lot of seating in the cafeteria, that didn't bother us because we could bring breakfast back to the room. Staff was nice. The car stayed in the parking lot for the entire time we were there, the subway is 5 minute walk away from hotel and goes directly to Time Square!!! We enjoyed this hotel and recommend it.

A decent hotel in Queens.

Overall a good experience. The staff was excellent -very polite and attentive. We had a small issue with our TV not turning on, and we called the front desk for help, and they sent someone up right away and he fixed the problem immediately. Location was good with a subway one block away, thereby giving us quick access to the city. Free breakfast was a plus as well, but it could have been a little more exciting. The eggs and sausages weren't the greatest, but the hot stuff was hot and the cold stuff was cold, and the man in charge of replacing the food was always on top of everything. The room was clean and the bed was comfy, the carpets needed to be replaced, but it was a minor issue. My fiancé and I would definitely stay here again on our next trip to New York.

Everything was just okay. Room was old but clean, sheets were clearn but sometimes had a little stain, breakfast was satisfying to me but without any variation, staffs were not bad but always looked sleepy... Everything was like that. It would be okay if you're looking for a comfortable and cheaper stay at NYC.

Great hotel!

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness! Parking was free. We were even allowed to leave our car until 6pm on the day we checked out.
Location: The area was in Queens and it was quiet with a movie theater, restaurants, stores, and the subway station close by.
The room was spotless! The mattress, sheets, towels, floor, and bathroom were clean and fresh. Breakfast was good.
