A little overpriced but a lovely hotel

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: Location. Helpful staff.
Cons: Needs a good paint.
Stayed one night and thought the hotel was great. A little overpriced. Staff were so lovely and helpful. Allowed us to check in at 1230 which was brilliant. The location is ideal. A little noisy as the building is very old and creaky - could hear people walking up and down the stairs late into the night.

Beautiful iconic building.

Posted Jun 4, 2014
Cons: It would be lovely if it could be completely restored. It would be such a shame to lose such a beautiful building
Location: Location was great walking distance to all shops and several land marks. Short drive to Point Lonsdale and other nearby towns of interest.
Like taking a step back in time in a beautiful iconic building. Staff very friendly and helpful. Our dining experience was wonderful food was excellent. Upon arrival we mentioned it was my partners birthday and at the end of our meal a plate piped with Happy Birthday and a small treat were delivered to our table what a lovely personal touch.

Lovely Olde World Charm

Posted Jun 3, 2014
Pros: Its history.
Cons: I'm not sure what if anything could be improved upon. A 10 o├žlock checkout isn't ideal, we asked if we could get a later checkout and were given it.
Location: There's loads to do. Wineries, berry farms, The Blues Train and you could even catch the ferry to Sorrento foir a day trip.
The Vue Grand is a lovely old hotel. And while yes there are alot of original features our room was very modern.

Grand old hotel. Our room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. The hotel is right in the middle of Queencliff's historic shopping strip so it's a perfect location. The old dining room where we had a great breakfast is lovely and it was a great overnight stay before catching the ferry across to Sorrento.

historic Hotel

Pros: The character
Cons: Food service availability late evening
A fantastic old style hotel. Could possibly do with a makeover (bathrooms and carpets) but otherwise very comfortable and clean. Great breakfast.

Pros: Has great character and great food.
Cons: The advertised Wi-Fi did not work in my room. The signal in the room was too weak to be useful.

Desperate Need of Attention

Posted Jan 6, 2014
Pros: Location - outside facade is nice. Nothing else.
Cons: Most everything.
Location: Location is good - lots of cafes, ice cream shops, ugly clothes stores.
From the photos you get the impression that this is an exquisite fabulous hotel....it may have been in June 1982 when it last had a bit of attention. The decor is drab, old, paint is peeling - I thought I was stepping back in time.....but not in a good way. The hotel is way overpriced for what yoiu get.....an uncomfortable bed, a receptionist that is very confused, a miniature bathroom, and carpet that hasnt been cleaned since December 1982. Never again. BTW - check out the rooftop pool.....or more like an eski and a picnic table!

Grand reputation

Pros: Old style ambience
Cons: External lighting impinges on the rooms.
Location: Stacks to do in Queenscliff and around. Good old style shopping.
Disappointed in the quality of the rooms. Very noisy and in need of an upgrade. Excellent old style dining room. Expensive for the quality provided.
