Great hotel in QueenstownPosted Nov 10, 2013
Pros: Large room with kitchen, large bathroom. Consistent hot water. Friendly and very helpful staff. Close to town.
Location: The hotel is a short walk (less than 15 minutes) from most of the restaurants, and right next to the lake and Queenstown Gardens.
I have stayed in two hotels in Queenstown and this was by far the best one (it was also cheapter). The room was large with a small kitchen, which was very convenient when I was too tired to go out for dinner. The bathroom was also large, and the hot water was consistent (unlike the other hotel where it would vary from plain cold to scalding). The staff (owners I believe) were very helpful. I booked a few day trips at the reception and their suggestions were great. I would definitely recommend the funyak on the dart river (It was awesome!!! If you do that or anything near water, bring insect repellent). On a slightly unrelated matter, I would also recommend renting a bike and cycling through some of the many trails around Queenstown. The hotel is a short walk (less than 15 minutes) from the busier area of Queenstown, where most of the restaurants are (aside: If you love Nando's, there's one a bus ride away in Frankton). There is also a restaurant in the hotel on the other side of the road (to the left); it is the closest one (I believe). I had dinner there once and it was nothing special if a bit expensive. The hotel is right next to the lake and Queenstown Gardens.
