Nice place in lovely Arrowtown

Posted Apr 26, 2014
Pros: The location is fantastic, Arrowtown is so beautiful
Cons: The decor is a little dated, but who cares really. The breakfast though is probably worth a miss, bit expensive and not great.
Location: Arrowtown is small and perfectly formed. The views are great and town lovely. I highly recommend the 'blue door' bar if you can find it, fantastic!
We stayed here three nights and found it really nice. It was very near to the town centre (where there are plenty of things to do, the 'fork and tap' and the 'blue door' being two bars I would highly recommend) The facilities were good and we had a really good few nights sleep there.

Not three star in my opinion

Posted Jan 28, 2012 on Hotels.com
Although the motel units are well equipped they can best be described as tired. Furniture and fittings very dated and not suited to todays needs. In UK I would only rate this motel as a one or two star. One bedroom was upstairs and one of the stairs was broken and dangerous. The taps wouldn't turn off and the bedside light in my room did not work. Only go here if you can't get in anywhere else

Arrowtown Viking Lodge

Posted Jan 24, 2012 on Hotels.com
Although the motel is older, and the interior of the chalets is somewhat dated, they were very clean and comfortable. The motel is located fairly close to the centre town (less than 5 min drive), and is in a nice suburban area.

Viking Lodge, Arrowtown

The decor of the detached unit we stayed in was a little dated but it was well equipped for a self-catering stay, spacious, clean and comfortable. Easy walking distance of centre of town. Friendly and helpful owner/manager. Arrowtown is delightful - beautiful setting, lovely walks, characterful with interesting history, nice restaurnats, bars - we wished we had been able to stay longer.
