“Great last night in NZ”

Beautiful room, view and hotel in general. It was the perfect place to spend the last night of our honeymoon.

“fantastic hotel experience!”

the hotel was fantastic and very reasonable. the staff were the most helpful and friendly. the concierge services were outstanding. the only thing that many of the hotels do is charge for internet use by the minute! they should have a nominal charge for use, but not by the minute. location was only 3 blocks outside the very center of town. just far enough to be quiet when desired. rooms very well appointed, get the lake view. hotel in general very beautiful.

When to go

we went at the beginning of the summer season, early Nov, was great timing. pre high season rates, not crowded, great weather. must do the Zip line, parasailing, even for the faint at heart. kayaking was great. best places to eat: Dux de Lux (makes it's own beer), cafe Vudu, Halo, Flame restaurant, Fergburger for lunch. wine tour was great!

“Awesome hotel and location”

The location and view are fantastic. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. A great experience. I would definitely stay there next time.

“Great spot”

superb hotel - friendly attentive staff. We requested a lakefront view king and were upgraded to an apartment which was incredible. Lake view was great with incredible changing light throughout the day. Breakfast buffet very good and great views and good bar. Internet expensive but comparable to other Q'town hotels - check out Internet Access Company if connecting wirelessly and travelling elsewhere in NZ. Short down hill walk to town center better than trying to find parking.

Area recommendations

Great restaurants -- our favorite was Fishbone Grill - small cafe atmsophere, good local wines, superb seafood dishes and great staff definitely worth a return visit and just as good on the repeat visit.. Also good were Finz and Boardwalk Seafood. Joes Garage for breakfast. Staff in the Outdoor store that also houses DOC were very helpful. DOC staff superb and friendly for tramping information. If shopping for tramping food supplies - recommend going to Remarkables Shopping Center near the airport.

“Loved the St. Moritz”

I stayed here with my wife and two young sons at the beginning of a family vacation in the South Island. We were very impressed with the hotel upon check-in and even more impressed when we got into our room. We reserved a large room on the sixth floor and it was worth every penny. All the conveniences of home...even a kitchen, washing machine, living room with large TV. The balcony to sit on was the best for the evening and morning views....strike that...the fabulous views anytime! Service was stellar and even our baby bed was ready in the room when we arrived. Can't wait ti stay here again.
