High quality, top location

Posted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: Very new so great condition quality building, lovely staff, I'm late 40's and this was my first hostel and I just felt at home from start to finish
Cons: Powerpoints by each bed and it'd be perfect - seriously good alternative to a hotel. This is NOT roughing it, very little to improve.
Location: Amazing location, opposite Monty's/Vinyl, about 100m from the water and on the 2hr parking side of Queenstown.
Stayed 4 nights over Queenstown Winter Festival 2014 in a 6 bed room with ensuite, great staff, enough of them, good price, cleaning staff extremely respectful if you were still sleeping it off, double glazing and thermal curtains eliminated almost all noise from Searle Lane, every room seems to have a deck, we also had a heat pump! The bunks were comfy, pillows a bit thin but awesome duvet. Would prefer powerpoints nearer each bed but there was plenty of them. One cubbyhole per bed in a wall mounted unit, each about 30x12cm and maybe 15cm deep (all from memory sorry) with provision for you to use your own padlock. There was just enough room for everyone to have a bag near their bed, tight but not an issue. The ensuite was excellent, tons of hot water, needed a shelf for your stuff for shaving etc but otherwise great. Huge place, so the kitchen and lounge were never full, had a pull table, big deck, couches, fire... nice. Slept in the last day let off the $10 fee, thanks guys! :)

Fantastic location, free breakfast!

Posted Mar 9, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, good price, free toast and spread in the morning was a bonus. Good location, close to everything.
Cons: Toilets should really be cleaned thoroughly when a new person checks into the room! Mine sadly had evidence of a past user...
Top floor room meant relatively sound proofing - not disturbed at all by the partying going on around me...

Great

Pros: Location
Location: Everything
Awesome place in the center of town, staff friendly and helpful, clean room. However a fair bit of noise gets through from the club next door.

I found if you were already in the hotel you got served last over people turning up to book. If I am at the desk first I expect to be served first but this isnt the case and happened regularly. The cleaners only vacuumed the middle of the room.

One of the nicest hostels I've stayed in - very modern with clean, well equipped rooms. The location is perfect, with the lake/bars/cafes/the park all within 30 seconds walk. There is a large and well maintained kitchen/communal area, and they even offered free breakfast and dinner while I was there!

Best Location

Posted Nov 26, 2013
Pros: Location and Staff
Cons: Please change the wash basins. The bed and the matresses for single rooms should be changed because price is similar to any hotel of single room.
Location: Lake is few steps away from hotel. Gondoloa for the city view is 10 minutes walk. Bus stop is close by.All the party places are next road.
The hotel location is best. Everything is close by the lake the CBD the happening places. The staff super friendly and always eager to help. In the begining I booked a 6 bed ensuit but the bed and bathroom were very uncomfortable for me. Si I paid and upgraded to a single room. The bed was same and bath room same only diffrence was i was only user. The wash basin is so tiny that it is not possible to spill water.

Overall a good experience

This is a nice and new hostel. It is very large and feels more like a hotel. The rooms and betting are all very clean. This does have more of a corporate feel. The location is great in that it is close to everything but as I discovered this also means it is close to bars which stay open super late! One perk is free breakfast and dinner....this tends to go fast so you must be there promptly to receive this handout.

Amazing Location and View

For a backpacker hostel, this place was amazing. Great balcony and view from the ensuite king room. Nice and new fitout (although the sink was hard to use, due to a porrly designed shelf above). The cable TV was a bonus although only a few channels and only one (worst) sports channel. Decent size room as well, so handy with boards and skis.
