“Great place, great view”

Great view of the lake, easy walking access to downtown and attractions, nice pool and spa, good restaurant and happy hour in the bar. We would stay here again.

“Nice place.”

We really liked our stay at Rydges. We could walk to town and we had a very nice view of the lake from our room. They had a nice bar and restaurant. Breakfast was included with our room and it was very nice. We would (will) stay there again if we ever return to Queenstown.

“Was a great hotel”

Hotel was in a good location - easy walking distance to town but yet not in the middle of all the action. It made for a relaxing and enjoyable stay while in Queenstown.

“Best hotel in Queenstown!”

Best hotel in Queenstown with the, undoubtedly, the best view as well. Great price for such a great hotel, given the other prices in town. Fireside bar/lounge was fantastic with a great staff and great food - we didn't even want to leave the hotel! Beautiful building, beautiful room, great bathroom and overall a phenomenal stay. Thanks so much!

“Comfortable stay”

It is the second time we stay there and it is a very comfortable hotel walking distance to town spectacular view of the lake. The rooms are small so I suggest a suite. The breakfast buffet usually included in the rate is wonderful and the pool is so protected that you can sun- bathe even when it is windy. Only negative: The dining room is one of the saddest places I have ever seen. It looks like a soviet factory cafeteria. And from what I have been able to tell it is only open for breakfast.

“Great place to stay. Eat somewhere else!!”

The hotel itself was a good experience, but the breakfast was AWFUL. I eat everything and by no means picky. I come from a land where the motto is, "if it's got four legs and the suns on it's back, it's fair game" and I couldn't eat the food. I don't think I've ever had eggs, sausage and bacon be so messed up beyond the point of being inedible. For $18 no less! Save your money and eat somewhere else in Queenstown. The room and the service, however, was excellent.

“Nice view of mountains”

Thanks to the previous people who reviewed this hotel, I decided to pay the extra $15 a night and get a mountain view room. Definitely worth the extra cost. If you like mountains, the view from Rydges is fabulous! It is a bit of a walk, about 10 minutes at a good pace, to the town center, but it is a good location right on the lake.

“Rydges Hotel”

This hotel was a very good value and at an excellent location in Queenstown with an excellent view of the Milford Sound. Our only complaint was the amount of construction taking place right outside our balcony and the noise that went with it.
