Comfortable stay

Nice experience and clean hotel. The pool is too small and opens at 10 am which I found quite late

Rydges close to town

Posted Apr 8, 2015
Pros: Close to town
Was disappointed in Rydges. Got a good price for a couple of nights but didn't realise that was because the room was average at best. Thought I had a good deal as it was at a reputable hotel so even though it seemed cheap the room would still be nice - the photos were of a nice room. The room was an un-renovated one at the back of the hotel - old carpet, old fridge which froze our drinks and couldn't be adjusted. Old bathroom with no extractor fan and the toilet jammed in so I had remove the toilet roll from the holder so my leg had room. I think if you have cheaper rooms you should make it clear that they are for rooms that are of a substantially less standard than the rest of the ones in the hotel,

OK Hotel, little way away from the action

Posted Apr 7, 2015
Pros: Access to car park on 7th floor (once found)
Location: The location is a little way from the main action - but just a short walk which was OK
Hotel was fine. The car park is at the rear - up a hill and hence comes out at the 7th floor (on top of the hotel). Once found, this car park was very convenient to the lift and to our room on the 6th floor. Good size room.

A poor excuse for the ridges brand

Posted Apr 3, 2015
Pros: staff we pretty good - especially about finding us an upgrade
Cons: the lot - a premier location for a really bad hotel
Location: heaps - the saving grace was we were never at the hotel
after booking on line (attracted by price and the name of the hotel chain - how bad could it be ? right) we had to upgrade immediately as the room was small, unclean and honestly seen better back packers. There was not one thing great I can say about the original room - except a disgrace.

Close to beach and shopping

Posted Apr 2, 2015
Pros: The view from our balcony
Cons: Needs to be remodeled. The carpets are old, the drapes were shabby, and the bathtub/shower was chipped and did jot have anyplace to put your soap.
Location: Good location near the beach and shopping area.
This hotel has a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. The rooms need major updating. If you select a superior room be careful as they are not all the same size. Our friends room had a larger bedroom area, bathroom and closet. We paid the same price, but our room was much smaller. The entire facility needs to be remodeled.

Lakeland Rydges Queenstown

Posted Mar 27, 2015
We have stayed here before and never had any problems. This time we ended up in a room we did not like. More than likely my fault for not reading the fine print about the room layout but single beds were not what we were expecting. Would stat again but wi now know ro go through the room description with a fine tooth comb!!

Only because of location

Posted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: Location and free wifi
Cons: The rest
Location: Well situated
Nicely situated close to the lake and near the key area of Queenstown. Hotel however needs some serious refurbishing and staff some extra motivation.

Top branded hotel that doesn't deliver

Posted Mar 15, 2015
Pros: The staff were polite and helpful, stored our luggage while we. Went on an excursion.
Cons: Seriously requires an upgrade and modernisation
Location: The perfect position is close to Queenstown and only a five min walk to the main centre,
When booked we were told the room accommodated up to 4 people, what they omitted to state was: only bunk beds. The old section of the hotel needs pulling down as is dated and our window which had a vent at the bottom that had fallen out onto the main attraction "the car park" which has vehicles at the same level as level 6. The carpark also has the rubbish bins also just outside the window which the staff decided to fill with their empty bottles from the bar at midnight. For such a prime location the experience was extremely disappointing.
