Above averagePosted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, tidy rooms, nice location.
Cons: Beds aren't very comfortable, and rooms are only "tidied" during your stay, not actually cleaned.
In general we were pleased with our experience at this hotel. It seemed clean and the room was spacious. However, our booking clearly stated we booked a Standard room with 1 King bed, but were given a triple room with one double bed and one single bed. We brought this up with the hotel staff more than once however we were told we were indeed given the correct room. Overall this isn't a big deal, but we would have liked to have the room we booked. A double bed nearly isn't as comfortable as a king size bed!

A nice place from the busy town centre.Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Quiet and peaceful surrounding.
Cons: Soundproof the walls and ceilings abut better as you can hear footsteps above and occasional nose from occupants near by.
Location: Easy access to Corenet's Peak and Cardrona along the way!
A quiet and easy place to access the slopes (corenet's and cardrona) and away from queenstown's town centre's hustle and bustle.

QuietPosted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: Quiet, friendly helpful staff
Cons: More parking
Location: Handy to Queenstown and Arrowtown.
We re-booked into the Shotover Lodge for our 4th stay recently. As per the other stays the staff made the whole stay easy and friendly (even though we checked in late due to weather conditions). An great place to stay, quiet, clean and staff always friendly. You will require your own vehicle as the lodge is a reasonable distance from Queenstown (not necessarily a bad thing) Highly recommended

Affordable very comfortable lodgingPosted Jun 18, 2014
Location: Out of Queenstown, but near the Shotover River and Jet Boats, close to the road to the Coronet peak Ski fields.
Was pleasantly surprised with Shotover lodge. The accommodation was roomy, had everything you neeeded: good closet space, comfy bed, sofa bed, small terrace, coffee & tea and microwave, decent bathroom and nice toiletries. The Lodge also has a guest lounge and kitchen which we did not use. Would recommend.

Good value and close to queenstownPosted Jun 1, 2014
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were able to cater for ourselves in the kitchenette. Good value and beautiful views!
Cons: Needed a table in the room. We brought in the outside table. Another bedside light would be nice. Also a sharp knife. TV channels a bit limited.
Location: 5 mins from shotover jet and good cafe. 10 mins to Queenstown and 15 mins to Arrowtown. Good walks but snow and freezing temperatures kept us in town.
We arrived for a friend's winter wedding and really appeciated the warm room. We were shown round the lodge and told where the communal kitchen, laundry and guest lounge were. Our room had a kitchenette with microwave, kettle and fridge. The bed was big and very comfortable.

beautiful locationPosted May 24, 2014
Pros: situation, cleanliness and friendliness
Cons: some kitchen equipment especially saucepans need to be replaced.
Location: Beautiful location, ten pin bowling next door, shotover jet a couple of minutes down the road and half way between Queenstown and Arrowtown.
we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and adequate to our needs and the location of the lodge was very scenic and not too far out of Queenstown. We enjoyed our stay.

I enjoyed my stay. The only criticism was the noise from the road from trucks. I would stay again.

Lodge midway between Arrowtown and QueenstownPosted May 11, 2014
On the day I reached Arrowtown, all the hotels were booked, and Shotover Lodge was the nearest available in Expedia website. In reality, Shotover Lodge is nearer to Queenstown than to Arrowtown. In-room facilities were adequate and satisfactory. However, to visit Arrowtown, it is better to stay at Arrowtown itself. And to visit Queenstown, it is better to stay in Queestown itself. Despite the good in-room facilities, unfortunately, I find Shotover Lodge to be neither here nor there, between Arrowtown and Queenstown.
