5/5 Excellent
"Shana by the beach is an amazing boutique resort. Immersed in the rain forest with amazing views including the ocean. We were on a ladies trip and it was perfect. The staff are so welcoming and they love their job, literally as their shirts say it too. Ironically I didn't notice until my girlfriend called it out but genuinely they are so nice. We had the most amazing fried snapper and were so relaxed after hanging poolside, we ordered in one night in the evening. We also did the Cataraman sunset tour which I highly recommend. The drive to get to Shana is worth it but be prepared as it is a hike and once you are there, you have trails to the beach which is part of the rain forest and be on guard as the white belly monkeys will visit. I plan to go back with my family. "

"Stayed at Hotel Costa Verde and we were so pleased. Staff was friendly and helpful, rooms were so clean, view was amazing, we were able to get up close to monkeys. "
"Our recent stay at Issimo Suites was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality by the incredibly friendly staff. Their attentiveness and eagerness to assist truly enhanced the experience.
One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the breathtaking views that surrounded the hotel. Waking up to the lush greenery, ocean views, chirping birds, and abundant wildlife each morning was a treat for the senses. Whether lounging on the balcony or savoring a meal at the hotel's restaurant, the panoramic vistas never failed to impress.
Speaking of the restaurant, we had the pleasure of dining there with a large group of 20 people one evening. Despite the unexpected size of our party, the staff rose to the occasion admirably. We ordered a variety of dishes from the menu, and every single one exceeded our expectations.
The pool area was another standout feature. Not only was the pool impeccably maintained, but the temperature was absolutely perfect throughout our entire stay. Whether we wanted to take a refreshing dip or simply soak up the sun poolside, it was the ideal spot to unwind and relax. Plus, the poolside cocktails (especially the mojitos) were delicious.
Overall, our time at Issimo Suites exceeded all expectations. The combination of friendly staff and stunning views made for an unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a paradise retreat near Manuel Antonio."

"Our only disappointing event was dinner at the restaurant. It was so hot that one of our party could not stay for dinner and the fish on one of the dinners was spoilt. "

"This place was amazing. Very clean and updated. Beds were very comfortable. AC and Hot water worked flawless. Very very personal. Staff was the best we ever experienced and we stayed at many 5 star resorts. Pedro was lake personal concierge and helped us with everything. Every morning we weny to the bar and pool area at 6am for coffee and breakfast and Everytime Carly was there witb bright eyes and smile greeting us. Felt like home.
Bonus feature staying here was next to this hotel was a 22 acre private preserve with wildlife such as monkeys and sloths along with caged crocodiles and caymens. Also a butterfly garden. One of the coolest experiences is you will hear the howling monkeys early morning. Our last night they were in the trees above our bungalow. Loud for about an hour but one of the wildest experiences I ever had. The memories will.last forever.

"If you're looking for a quiet, quaint place to stay with amazing customer service, this is the place for you! We spent 4 nights at Gaia and thoroughly enjoyed our room and the staff. We booked a jungle view room and it was exactly what we expected ..clean, quiet and great AC. The next morning, Boris, the owner approached us at breakfast and informed us that he wanted to move us. He moved us to an amazing suite with a rooftop deck overlooking the ocean! Totally unexpected but appreciated! Carlos helped us get to know the place and helped us line up transportation to Tamarindo at the end of our trip and Jimmy made sure we were always fed and had our beverages whether it was morning coffee or evening cocktails. We enjoyed the vegan breakfast each morning as well as a couple of options for dinner. The view of the macaws each evening topped off the view The hotel provided us with transportation to the beach as well as set us up with a trip to the park. Overall, it was an amazing stay and we would do it again! Special thanks to the gentleman who came and saved us from our unexpected guest as well as our pool side bartender who we watched the monkeys with. Apologies for not knowing your names."
