Amazing resort and very friendly staffPosted Dec 2, 2012
From the moment I arrived I loved this place! I was greeted by Melissa who explained everything to me and also assisted in organising tours / transportation etc. The setting is fantastic and whilst the rooms are a little dated I think this actually adds to the charm of the place. The location is fantastic just a short bus ride down into Manuel Antonio or you can take a beautiful walk down to the beach and then into Manuel Antonio.

Great Stay! A very comfortable hotel!Posted Nov 30, 2012
Pros: Restaurant (margarita fresa, copp salad, soups, pizza), ocean view, convenient location, many animals
Cons: A bit dated
Location: The hotel is located in the touristy area. It's about 20-25 minute walk to the beach or 5-10 min bus ride. Very close to the best restaurants.
We are a couple and stayed for 3 nights. The overall experience was very good. This hotel has some really good things and only a few handicaps. I usually start rating the hotel with 5 stars and then subtract a star or a half for negatives that I noticed. The service was pretty good. The staff in the lobby wasn't too helpful when asked about certain activities and didn't offer much advice on what to do. Some introductory advice about the area would be appreciated (- half star). However, otherwise the service was great. The restaurant by the pool side was really good. The service was surprisingly very good and attentive and the food and drinks were delicious. The restaurant is a bit pricey, but is on par with good places in the area. The hotel is a bit outdated (- half star). That's not an issue from the outside as it's located among tons of trees, which makes its older look acceptable. However, inside it's a bit annoying. The location is very good. We had an ocean view room with pretty nice view (even though the hotel is on the far side of the road). Rooms are typical, nice, and have all the needed accessories. Bathroom was a bit dated. The pool is pretty good. The hotel has parking, sports bar, and casino, so can fit many interests. During our stay we saw many animals almost as many as in Manual Antonio Park. There is something about this place that attracts a ton of animals. We had a great stay! 4 stars.

Great wildlifePosted Nov 26, 2012
Pros: Wildlife, setting
Cons: Room furnishings, steps
Location: Nice spot in Quepos, near Manuel Antonio, but still a few km from MA.
The wildlife (monkeys, agoutis, basilics, toucans/other birds) and the lush rainforest setting make this remarkable. Steps were a little annoying, but nercessary. Staff were wonderful. Rooms were nothing luxurious, and really could have used a comfortable chair.

Amazing surprisePosted Nov 18, 2012 on Hotels.com
We stayed in one of the bungalows and were amazingly surprised! We had our own little retreat in the jungle complete with porch, flowing creek, monkeys and birds. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. We walked down to the beach every morning and went to the local smoothie place, Jungle Juice, every afternoon which is right down the road from Byblos. It's perfect for travelers who want to feel connected to the jungle and town in a comfortable environment!

Employees were very helpful and friendly. The meals were very nice. STeps up to our room were long and difficult, but we loved being up high once we were up there.

Ok for few nightsPosted Sep 19, 2012 on Hotels.com
We went during the winter season in Costa Rica, if I had known that I could just arrive there and negotiate my price I would have done so. At Byblos, they don't have an elevator and the interior of the rooms are a bit outdated. It was clean and comfortable for the 2 nights that we stayed. You can walk to the bus stop for the beach and wait for one but if you're up for it just take the 15 min walk down hill and see everything that's around especially the restaurants and local artists. The staff was friendly and courteous. I would suggest getting the daily breakfast because not every place has breakfast options and may open late.

Close to everything, happening bar!Posted Sep 12, 2012
Very nice hotel that sit's atop the mountain in Manuel Antonio. It only offers a few rooms with obscured ocean views but this wouldn't be the reason to stay here anyway. The way the hotel is situated into the side of the mountain provides a beautiful garden with a river running through it. Private bungalows are your best option for the most scenic views and keeps you away from the attached Billfish bar which can become noisy at night. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone that has difficulty climbing stairs. No elevators and stairs are everywhere. Restaurant is good and pool is very nice. Casino is small and I did not go into there.

Mixed bagPosted Sep 10, 2012 on Hotels.com
We enjoyed staying in the bungalow. Bed was comfy, bathroom was nice, decent TV and fridge. hotel is in a good location, near the beach, national park, etc. The bad: the bar is really annoying and loud at night (even when there were no patrons there), the drinks at the bar were terrible, had no liquor, and overall the maintenance of the grounds was lacking. There was green mold and moss all over all of the walkways, and around the pool. the whole place needs to be powerwashed.
