Thank goodness I only had to stay one nightPosted Dec 23, 2014 on Hotels.com
The place needs to be upgraded, as they still have the old style curtain and the smell of the rooms is a bit musty. The bathroom I had smelled old and behind the toilet on the floor was a white towel to capture the water leaking from the toilet. From 1-10 and 1 being the lowest I rate this a 3. I also noticed the walls and tv and chairs still had old sticky and brown stuff on them as the cleaners do not do a very good job, plus the sheets smell different as they are using a less expensive laundry detergent. One plus they have HOT water!

Could have been so much better.Posted Oct 28, 2014
Front desk was nice but their cleaning staff were not on the ball. For example the decorative scarf thing was dirty, hadn't been dust in a few days and there was rotten food in the fridge.

ComfortablePosted Oct 1, 2014
Pros: It is off the main road which has a lot of logging truck traffic and noise. It is a nice small town place to stay and the staff are very friendly.
Cons: Could use some updating.
Location: Shops and restaurants are very close.
This hotel is good value for the money and a quiet place to stay away from the main road but yet close to everything. We appreciated the kitchenette and also enjoyed chatting with other visitors at the breakfast provided in the lobby in the mornings. It was our second stay and we would stay there again.

We are very upset with this hotel. We arrived late afternoon and were given two rooms. The one room had a very toxic odor something like propane or some other toxic chemical. We removed our things and were given a new room right above the owers of the establishment. We then had to deal with an unlocked unsecure window, a door that would not close properly. A bad odor of Curry that keep seeping into our room from the owners suite. We stayed for two nights, on the second night our neighbours next to us decided to have a loud party from 2:30 am to 5:30 am no one came to shut them down. We will never stay here again and do not recommend that anyone else would.

Great Place to Relax After Hours on the RoadPosted Sep 11, 2014
Location: We spent the next day in Barkerville, a historic mining town less than two hours away.
Overall experience was fantastic. We were able to enjoy the well appointed pool at night after a long drive. Could not have been better.

The room had an odour. The complimentary mouthwash had no safety seal and appeared to have been used so I threw it out.

A very comfortable bed! An older hotel, but clean and comfortable. Bonus, still using glass coffee mugs and drinking glasses in room, not plastic/foam. Also real cutlery and dishes in breakfast dining area. Good value for price.
