Great location and service but noisy and dirty
Posted Jan 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
The only problems I had were that there was garbage left behind the desk in our room so my daughter actually pulled out some garbage while she was playing, which was disgusting. The sealant on bottom of the door was damaged so a draft came through under the door making the floor very cold. The bathroom was not well heated so it was cold in there as well so made it uncomfortable to shower or even use the toilet. Lastly, it was extremely noisy in the morning because of the large trucks of contractors who were staying at the hotel and leaving early in the morning, which can be difficult for the hotel staff to address. Having a large, noisy vehicle, it would be most helpful if staff asked them to park away from the doors of the hotel rooms or for individuals to have the courtesy to know that not everyone in the hotel needs to leave at 5am, 6am, or 7am, which is when I heard many of these vehicles outside our door leaving. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful upon check-in and during the breakfast buffet. The breakfast was good and there was a bit of selection. The hotel is in a great location, very close to the rink, so we didn't have far to go for hockey/ringette games.

A comfortable room

Pros: Location to downtown core.
Location: It is a great place if you want to be close to downtown.
I needed to run the water in the bathtub for about 10min while the sediment in the lines cleared up. I had a talk with a professional about this and I was informed that the room was probably vacant for about 3-4 months, but in the long run, the room wasn't bad. I have stayed here in the past, but got the room off the corporate site. On this stay, I checked the corporate site on a regular basis and the rate went up over night from what I paid on expedia to $75. I watched this hotel until I was ready to make the trip and when I booked, the corporate rate had gone up.

We didn't like this hotel at all. The room was stinky and not very clean. We didn't have a microwave in the room. We could have paid 10 $ more and stayed in a much nicer hotel than this one. We were very disappointed. Not worth the money they are asking for their rooms.

Cons: Couldn't find the ice machine.
Location: Easy to get to.
Front desk staff was very helpful, we arrived quite late, they stayed up waiting for us and were still pleasant.

Pros: Clean, Large, Easy to get to
Cons: No table
Location: Location is great. Just off the highway.
The hotel is older but well kept up. The rooms are large and comfortable. There is no table in the room other than a desk

Good Value

We were checked in on a hot afternoon by a very pleasant lady then headed straight for the pool. It was refreshing and most welcome. The room had two fairly firm queen beds and the air conditioner was doing it magic. There was the usual coffee maker and also a small bar fridge where we stashed our snacks and juice. The TV wasn't working that great but it didn't matter, I was asleep by 9:30 pm. In the morning the lobby provided a breakfast that included make-your-own waffles in a waffle iron, eggs, toast, muffins, cereal, fruit juice and coffee
