Positive experience. Hotel was chic and had a lot of great cafés nearby. The pool was fair however.

Nice, good price, horrible water pressure

the filters to save water are so good that the experience of taking a shower or brushing theeth is so bad.

This is a lovely old and remodeled hotel.

Posted Apr 15, 2014
Pros: Lots of old world charm, but completely modern services and amenities.
Cons: Nothing. It's a great deal.
Location: Sorry, don't know. We were told that the cafe across the street was excellent. Finding good coffee in Quito is a challenge, so that's a great find.
We were there one night, and had booked from the internet. It is in the "new" section of Quito, not a charming area, but only a short taxi ride from the historic center. Dann is a Columbian chain, we saw not many American guests. The staff could not have been more helpful (we had a 2 am wake-up call). The food in the new and modern casual restaurant was excellent.

Good value

Posted Apr 10, 2014
Pros: Price, staff, and breakfast.
Cons: n/a
Location: It is in the business area and a bit far from the old town. Hire a car and visit the attractions such as the cable car or the equator monument.
We stayed for 1 night before going to Mindo and 2 more nights after returning to Quito. The hotel is clean, comfortable and staff are helpful. The cost of hiring the cars from the hotel is quite reasonable (cheaper than Marriott). Free internet is a plus. Breakfast is also very good (better than Marriott). If you are there for business, it is an excellent choice; for touring, it is a little far from Old Town.

Very pleasant stay

The hotel was excellent as well as the service. The only annoying thing was that the extractor fan in our bathroom never worked. Room number 611.

Classy Hotel

Our stay at the Dann Carlton was very nice. The hotel was a first class hotel and everything there was very nice. The quality of the rooms was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Had a pool, sauna, steam room and spa as well as a fitness room. The hotel was also located in a very nice area.
