We came off a wonderful boat trip through the Galapagos Islands, which had a very rigorous schedule starting at 7AM daily. I had seen this hotel on line and fell in love with it. We decided to tack on 2 days at the end of our trip to relax without a schedule. This was the best decision I ever made. We arrived to a fire going in the living room, fresh roses on the table, hot water bottles in our bed and fresh cookies on the night stand! In the morning the breakfast that was included, was served on our porch with fresh blackberry juice. The decor was incredible:l tasteful, warm, antiques and copper. The first night I sank into the huge copper tub. We had dinner both nights in their restaurant. I am a chef and I thought the food was amazing. We never left the property until it was almost time for our plane. The owner is an American with a lovely, bubbly personality. The staff was one of the best I have ever dealt with. They were professional, yet warm and friendly. Most of them spoke English, or tried.

Great hotel. Location, service, staff, comfort, ambiance: all get 5 out of 5 from us. We were REALLY impressed with the personalized service. The room was large and unlike many who seem to have had a noise issue, we had none:) We would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Very nice hotel within walking distance of all the attractions of the old city. Beautiful hotel with lots of ambiance. I had a room on the third floor facing the back and it was very quiet - although sometimes you could hear the next room's shower. Be prepare - if you arrive on Sunday they close down all of the streets in the old town so its a bit of a challenge to get to the hotel. Even when it is not Sunday - La Ronda street is closed and you will have to walk about a block on cobbled streets every time you leave the hotel which is at the bottom of a hill so to get to the main part of the city you have to walk up hill. Santo Domingo church is at the top of the hill. I felt safe but it is where many of Ecuador's hookers hang out. If you politely say no, they pretty much leave you alone.

Amazing Gem in the heart of Old Town. The night we arrived the host escorted us down the street to introduce us to a Vegetarian restaurant. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were very unique but comfortable.
