Not organised!Posted Feb 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
This B and B has much potential, but it is mismanaged. 2 times we had confirmed a pick-up from the airport and 2 times no one came. They have a restaurant, but they don't seem to want to cook anything, but breakfast. We booked horseback riding through them and the ride was a 15 minute ride to the end of the block and then they wanted to charge us for 2 hours. There is nothing in the immediate area an don't let them convince you to go to Cumbayano. The only thing there is the Scala shopping mall. Nice spot, but very frustrating experience.

Great place, not convenient location.Posted Dec 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great place, wish we would've had more time to spend there! The atmosphere, food, and service was perfect. My only complaint is that it is far from anything, we thought it was close to the airport but it took us almost an hour to get there.

A hidden jewel!Posted Aug 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
We needed a place close to the airport where we could spend a night before returning to the airport very early the following morning. As there are no hotels built next to the new airport, a friend from Quito suggested we look for hotels/B&Bs in Tumbaco. I saw online a couple pictures of Ventana's B&B before making the reservation, but these pictures do not do the place any justice. The setting is BEAUTIFUL, with lovely gardens and balconies and a panoramic view. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was small and not very modern, but for the little time we spent there, that was not a major inconvenience. The best aspect of this experience was the food (very good dinner) and the TERRIFIC, personalized service. Because we were to be picked up at 6 a.m., before breakfast was served, the owner fixed us a very satisfying and nutritious breakfast to go. If I have the opportunity to travel to Quito again, I will again stay at the Ventana B&B. In fact, I would go back to Quito just to have the opportunity of staying there again and enjoying the swimming pool and more of its lovely scenery.

Good, pleasant and restful stayPosted Jul 12, 2013
Pros: Good service
Cons: Need for some sound insulation
Location: 25 minutes in light traffic from Quito airport (the new one)
I arrived late, after 11:30, due to the usual late arrival of flights into Quito. It took about 3 minutes to locate the driver in the lobby - he was surprised that I was through customs so soon. Traffic was light on the 25 minute drive to the B&B so we had no hold-ups. When I arrived, I was greeted with a big smile and welcome from Cynthia, and she quickly got me to my room. Her English is impeccable, which is a good thing as my Spanish is poor. The Wi-Fi in the room worked fine and I was able to let family and friends know I was safe. The only thing I noticed was the quietness of the room and surroundings, which meant that any outside sound was easy to hear. I would suggest some white noise or similar masking sound / earplugs for light sleepers. The bed was firm enough with plenty of pillows and covers to accommodate any needs for warmth. Waking up early for my morning flight was easy thanks to the alarm clock in the room. The shower worked well and the water was warm. As I walked toward the front desk area on the pathway, one of the staff was on their way to make sure I would be ready to catch my ride to the airport. Even though it was only 5 hours after I had arrived, Cynthia was back on duty to make sure I was on my way. I plan to return one day when I can see more of the place in daylight... :-)
