Clean and surprisingly greatPosted Apr 27, 2014
Pros: Covered above: people, food, decor, cleanliness, plumbing.
Cons: For the price, very little.
Location: Very handy for the medina and most of the places to see in Rabat. If you wish to go farther, walk the 150 metres to Rue Hassan II and get a taxi.
Place is beautiful. Cleanest hotel we have stayed in in Morocco in the last 3 weeks, with excellent decor and best plumbing. Since this is located in the medina, this is quite a coup. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I can recommend this one without reservation (not the case with my other reviews). Food was also excellent and reasonably priced. A rare two thumbs up (that is a compliment for non-English speakers).

A traditional riad in the middle of the medinaPosted Feb 13, 2014
Pros: Location, stylish and comfortable, good service
Cons: May be another mirror in the room
Location: Located in the old medina, you can walk to all the main sites, the Kasbah, Chellah, Tour Hassan, beach, river promenade
My daughter and I had a great time exploring the sights of Rabat, but what made our weekend break special was our stay in Riad El Maati. We were looked after so well by the lovely staff there - delicious food, mint teas and cakes, advice on where to eat out and the best shops in the medina, nothing was too much trouble. We spent a relaxing afternoon having a hammam and massage in the riad's small spa. Perfect .

Beautiful spa-like riad in the medinaPosted Apr 14, 2013
I loved this modern version of all old riad in the medina. While the configuration of the riad was kept intact - open courtyard with windows looking onto the courtyard---the riad has been completely done over and has a really clean, spa-like feel---very fresh and beautiful--and I found it to be a pleasant change from the not-so fresh and clean feeling of the streets of the medina. The hosts could not have been more pleasant, welcoming or helpful---I felt like a guest in their home---rather than a customer. One morning my daughter asked the host about the spice "louisa" which is sometimes added to Moroccan tea--that evening when we returned, she gave my daughter a bag of dried louisa which she had purchased in the medina---very thoughtful and nice. Our room was lovely--super comfortable beds, balconies and windows all opening on the courtyard. One evening we returned fairly early and sat on the open balcony, lovely music was playing and we were able to order drinks which were brought up to our 3rd floor balcony (did I mention that you can purchase alcohol here---after 5 days in Morocco without my daily cocktail, this was a true treat fro me!!!). Breakfast was wonderful--an assortment of Moroccan breads and jams and honey, a pretty assortment of very fresh fruit, eggs and yogurt, coffee and tea all served in an attractive dining room.

Absolutely outstanding on all counts!Posted Dec 5, 2012 on Hotels.com
We will go all the way back to Rabat any day just to stay at the Riad el Maati! All the superlative reviews are true: from the very beginning (within half-a-day of advance booking on-line, we received a very kind welcome email with detailed directions and local information) to arrangements for our departure transportation, the thoughtful attention and sincere hospitality offered by everyone at this beautiful establishment was beyond any number of stars. Yet it was affordable for us (a family of average means), and without any of the snobbishness often exuded by NYC/European "fancy" places. Riad el Maati was an awesome home-away-from-home during what could've been a very stressful trip for us - actually, way better than home: immaculate, airy, with pampering options (highly recommend hammam rub!) and lovely dinner available also, everything was topnotch and yet relaxed, alive but peaceful. Inspiring to know firsthand that such a wonderful place really exists!
