“Holcombe Inn”
This is a very nice place to stay for visiting the Bath/Somerset area. If you ae happy to be out in the peace and quiet of the countryside, I would recommend this Inn. The standard of the accomodation and decor thoughout is excellent. The Africa room in which we stayed was very nice with the roll top bath and large wet room style shower. The food was also very nice.
“Wonderful retreat.”
On arrival we were very warmly welcomed and shown to our room..called Champagne. Very tastefully furnished and the King Size bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Wonderful soft pillows. All importantly the hotel was lovely and quiet, even though there were guests and outsiders wining and dining downstairs. We thoroughly enjoyed a superb meal on our first night. Breakfasts were substantial and varied. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were extremely friendly and polite and cheery and helpful. It was the most wonderful way in which to celebrate our wedding anniversary with a 5 night stay. Would recommend this hotel to everybody.
“Beautiful Country hotel”
This little hotel was a wonderful find on expedia, it was close to bath but was very rural with many country walks on the doorstep. The room was lovely and had a large en-suite bathroom with both a shower and a massive bath. The staff were all welcoming and friendly taking time out to stop and talk to guests and giving a warm feeling like we were part of the family. The menu was limited but delicious with a selection of local sea food and meat dishes, I am not a vegetarian so did not pay a great deal of notice to the veggie choices. Saying that one thing they could do with is a couple of light meals like salad on the evening menu as sometimes all I wanted was a light bite but ended up eating a big meal, that, though delicious was maybe a bit too much. All in all thoroghly recommended.
“Away from town but food is good.”
The hotel is near a farm. Very quite and the hotel condition is good. It will be very difficult to get there without a car wth GPS. The breakfast is good and they have pently of choice. Consider their location, you have to take dinner at their resturant. The food is really good. They remind me that the sun set view from the hotel is excellent. But I miss this.
