“Great find and at bargain price too!”

My wife flies for the airlines out of Newark, NJ and I occasionally travel to stay the weekend with her. I found the Indigo a terrfic alternative to the EWR Hotel chains and very convenient to NYC as well. There are some really nice restaurants in Rahway, all within walking distance and would definietly recommend this hotel.

“"Very impressed"”

I made a last minute reservation for a group of 8 people, traveling from Boston-MA to New York City, for Labor Day holiday. Based on the reviews on Expedia, we decided for this hotel. What a good surprise!! Easy access to the train to Penn station. Seamless check in and check out. Large rooms, nice extra closets, clean toiletries and bathroom. Free parking next door, nice decor, hardwood floors in the rooms, no smelly carpet. Everybody loved the place, and the price was very affordable. We certainly will stay there again when visiting NY. We missed a small refrigerator in the room!!!

Area recommendations

A place not to be missed is an asian restaurant called ARIRANO. Hibachi steakhouse and tavern. It's so funny, they perform a show while cooking/grilling/sizzling your food. 1230 US Highway 22 Mountainside, NJ 07092-2606 (908) 518-9733 Special celebration for birthday guests!!!

“What we expected for the price”

We spent little time at the hotel because our plan was to spend our time in New York City. The train is right across the street - very convenient. We felt safe in the area. The parking garage is connected to the hotel and is free. Our first trip to the city, one of the front desk girls gave us some great information on getting to the city and "sights to see." The housekeeping was just ok. We didn't have enough towels and had to call for additional. We told the front desk there was no iron in our room - they said they would bring us one, and we never got one. We were there three nights. But the room was clean.

“Easy access to NYC”

THis hotel is upscale, across from the NYC train, and also just a few stops from Newark airport. No car needed for this vacation. For the most part the hotel and staff are good. The only weak point is their restaurant/bar. I would recommend going out to a local restaurant for a drink or a meal.

“Great place for a change of pace...”

Great location for travel into NYC with train accross the street. Parking garage around the corner with ample spots. Beautiful, peaceful rooms and lobby with artistc murals on the walls and spiritual music. Different experience than the chain hotels. Really enjoyed my stay and will return if ever flying into Newark in the future.

“Really Impressed!!!”

I was extremely satisfied with my stay at Hotel Indigo. The rooms were clean and spacious. The decor was really nice...put me in the mind of hotels on South Beach. Hotel staff was always on hand to assist with anything needed. Location was great, plenty of places to eat within walking distance. I would definitely suggest this hotel to anyone seeking a place to stay in Rahway!

“Unique hotel service”

Overall the room was spacious, but, the shower in the bathroom does not have curtain to keep the water from spraying out next to the toilet and to the floor. I understand that the hotel wants to be eco-friendly by giving us less soap, shampoo, and lotion until we ask for it, but, one night we were almost completely without soap and toilet paper. Also another night after they supposed to have clean the room, the room was left with lights on, and air condition on high. Other than these unique service, the hotel is fine.

“Not impressed”

Clean rooms, pleasure staff and unfortunately some noisy guests. I stayed several nights and had guests who (one more than one occasion) thought it was appropriate to howler in the hallway from 11pm to 1am. The night manager tried to quiet them down but after he left they would start up again. I hope it was an infrequent event because the hotel seemed nice otherwise.
