Comfortable stay
The room was clean and equipped well. It was 12min drive from the National park entrance 1. The owner was very kind. We wish we stayed here longer.

Friendly host and a very nice room for our 4 person family. Just what we needed after a long day of walking in Plitvice National Park. We also got pizza take away from the closest pizzaria... extremely good pizza. Thanks for a good stay.

Wonderful homely start.
Lovely people, very nice room. Excellent cooking facilities shared with other guests, though we had it to ourselves when we stayed - the other guests ate out. Note that you need a car (or possibly use taxis) to get to Plitvice.

Friendly owner nice place to stay
It was a nice place to stay, the lady was very helpful, it had full cooking facilities and coffee and tea.As my reasons for staying here was to get to Plitvice Lakes N.P early in the morning the man drove up €10 it is a 4/5 km up hill.(early not many people their)

I only needed a quick place to stay near the national park and this was a perfect pick. I got lucky and there was nobody else in the other rooms so I had the bathroom to myself. It was very quiet and in a charming little farm town which I loved. The hosts were friendly and I didn't need much so no real comments there but check in and out was easy. The only issue I had was it was a bit difficult to find the place because my GPS wasn't quite accurate with the address given so maybe giving some instructions on how to get there from the main road and what to do once you get there (I was knocking on random doors until I found the right one) would be nice. Otherwise a great place to stay.

Nice place, but not perfect for us
We stayed here 1 night while visiting the park. Very friendly people, clean, well kept home, good location to the park. Unfortunately we have 2 complaints though. The walls are thin, and we could easily hear the other guests talking. And there was a no drinking sign posted in our room (as well as the shared kitchen space). I can completely understand the no smoking sign. But 2 adults sharing a bottle of wine in any room they rent should not be prohibited.

Dear Kimberly Thank you for your opinion, I will definitely look for the insulation of the walls this winter. This sign is for children younger than 18 and we have to have it in the room .. I hope this is not a problem and you enjoyed visiting Plitvice and our home. Thank You Jelena

Friendly guest house near Plitvice
This guest house is slightly off the main road to Plitvice from the North, easy to get to and close to this national park. The room was comfortable, the staff very friendly, the breakfast fairly large (separate fee), and the area very quiet (if you don't mind the rooster in the morning). We would come back here.

Wonderful Guest house!
We stayed at House Jelena for two nights while going to visit Plitvice National Park which was a short drive away. It was a great experience. One of the best places we stayed at throughout our trip. Very clean and comfy. The yard and flowers were beautiful. Jelena and her mother in law were very friendly. They had a cute kitten outside to play with. They had breakfast available for purchase and it was wonderful; coffee, bread, yogurt, cheese, deli meat, and fresh eggs from the chickens outside. The guesthouse was located off of a quiet street so there was no noise from cars and it was very nice to take a walk around. There's a shared kitchen and fridge for guests.

House Jelena
House Jelena was a great choice! Only a 10 minute drive to the Plitvice Lakes and surrounded by beautiful scenery! Waking up to roosters howling wasn't too bad, a nice change in culture that I found to appreciate! The house is located on a nice plot of land, perfect for relaxing after a long hike. I didn't have the breakfast, although, I can imagine it would be with fresh eggs from their chickens; another aspect of the culture of that area that I really enjoyed. Jelena was warm and welcoming and the rooms were amazing!

My girlfriend and I had a great time at House Jelena. Jelena was very kind and helpful. When she found out that we did not rent a car, she offered to pick us up and drop us off at the national park and various restaurants for half the price of the typical, overpriced taxi fee in this tourist area. She and her husband invited us to join them and their friends and family for lunch, whereby her husband cooked us traditional Croatian goulash (stew) made of veal and wild boar meat he hunted himself. Jelena is a great baker. Her Croatian custard cake was to-die-for! They treated us like family and we felt like we just waved goodbye to a family member when we checked out and Jelena bid us farewell at the bus station.

A Charmer!
This lively house has an attic area that is converted to cozy rooms for guests. There is a communal bathroom, kitchen area and dining area. Jelena, the owner is very hospitable and helpful and serves a lovely breakfast each day to guests for about $7 each. She is also very helpful with tourist information. We enjoyed our stay there!

Beautiful guest house close to Plitvice
House Jelena is a lovely guest house close to the Plitvice Lakes national park. We stayed here for a night before exploring the park the next day. It's a beautiful and comfortable house with good self-catering facilities. The landlady, Jelena, is very sweet and helpful and even gave us a little bowl of home-made plum jam to enjoy after our dinner. Highly recommend!!

Nice guesthouse near Plitvice and some local caves
Room was in a nice location not far from Plitvice Lakes and with lovely views around. The woman running it was very welcoming and friendly with a really good local knowledge. Was clean and comfortable although two single beds pushed together to make a double.

Very nice people.
A very enjoyable stay with very hospitable owners. We very much enjoyed our stay here, on arrival we were welcomed with a cold beer and smiles. We received a good breakfast which was well worth the 6 euros each that it cost. The local restaurant was within easy walking distance and offered very good food at a reasonable price. Would reccomend anyone to stay here.

Good little place to stay
A lovely little place to stay - spotlessly clean and the beds are so comfortable. We met the 3 ladies running the place, Grand-daughter was lovely and so friendly, daughter was just the same and Grandmother was gorgeous, she didn't speak a word of english but we communicated so easily with expressions and gestures, she brought us her home made plum brandy. Warning - it tastes great but it sure has a kick!

A Memorable Anniversary.
We stayed here Sept. 27 and Sept 28 for 2 nights. When we arrived we received home made plum brandy from their plum tree...excellent. Breakfast consisted of fresh eggs from their hen. The biggest treat was a bottle of Croatian wine w/a ribbon around it saying "Happy Anniversary" from Jenna. She baked us a delicious pineapple cake and served it to us. The family was so nice and the house is in a farm/country setting. Excellent !! Clean, quiet, beautiful.

We were greeted warmly by the hostess. The room was decent - clean and comfortable, a bit cozy. We had a bit trouble finding it, because the street did not show up on gps. Because of what other reviews said, we were expecting homemade food, but wasn't offered anything. It was disappointing though we realize it's not a bed and breakfast.

Bed and Breakfast at its best
We arrived late at night to our room and were promptly greeted by the owner who was the nicest person any one could ask for in a bed and breakfast owner. She showed us to our room, asked what we'd like to drink for breakfast and explained that her mother in law and daughter would be assisting us the next day with breakfast in our room. The room was able sized and had all the necessities you'd like in a room. The room was impeccable and the family that owns it really makes you feel at home. Recommend for anyone looking for a great bed and breakfast feeling hotel.

A lovely rustic house with warm hosts
We loved Hotel Jelena. It is quite near the park. It is extremely comfortable. The beds are great. It is run by a local family, very accommodating . They made us a lovely breakfast with lots of homemade goodies. The eggs are from the chickens you might hear early AM. You have the use of a small kitchen.Not fancy , just wonderful.

House Jelena is a beautiful Sobe not far from Plitvice national park. The house has three rooms with private bathrooms and a shared kitchen area. The location is very scenic. Jelena met us as we drove up, and showed us everything we needed to know and see around the Sobe and Plitvice. She even gave us some of her homemade plumb brandy on our arrival. Breakfast was also great, and included some eggs from her chickens and local meats, cheeses and pastries. Excellent all-round. Stay here if you can, you won't regret it!

We were very happy with this place. We had the room with the ensuite bath, and had the included breakfast. Everything was great. Although Hotels.com says this place took credit cards, they would only accept cash, either kuna or Euros, so be prepared to pay in cash. Also, it might be hard to find without local maps (doesn't show up on the large country maps), so a GPS would be helpful.

What I liked the most were the hosts! Great hospitality! The house has quiet surroundings, though it is not far from the main road and all facilities. We spent quite a lot of time relaxing in the garden. The apartment is truly "fully equipped"!
