Great location for the Tar Heel 10-miler

Posted Apr 25, 2015
Pros: Comfortable and spacious room
Cons: Our room was not cleaned the first night.
We chose this hotel because of its convenience to Chapel Hill while we were participating in the Tar Heel 1-miler.It worked out well as we walked to the event, avoiding the traffic.

I went to run the Tar Heel 10 miler in Chapel Hill. This hotel is about 5 minutes from South Campus. Excellent place to stay.

Great location. Close to both UNC and Duke. Modern décor, spacious rooms, very lively atmosphere. Would stay here again.

Disappointing

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: Location
Having to pay the same amount for self-parking on the street as you do for valet parking is ridiculous. TV in rooms only get 15 channels - but you are welcome to go sit in the bar and ask them to tune in a TV there to any channel. Very noisy - heard any and all conversations in the hall.

Pros: Loved the décor.
Cons: Only issue was that the internet connection was not good.
Stayed 1 night for conference. The room and meeting facilities were nice.

Love the friendliness of all the staff. Couldn't find a channel in our room, and they were nice enough to turn it own downstairs on one of the TVs.

Horrible experience.

Posted Feb 22, 2015
Pros: Not much
Location: Convenient to UNC. But so are many more hotels. Pick another one!
We stayed 2 nights. First time and last time at an Aloft. First charged $10/night for valet service because parking situation was bad. However, despite paying for valet, they were non-existent one of the days. Our first night, the hotel was without electric. Our second night, hotel was without hot water. Management did a rather lousy job of accommodating guests. We usually stay at Marriott. We tried this hotel to get an experience for the Aloft brand. We will never stay at an Aloft ever agian. I would suggest staying away from this specific hotel as well.

Stylish, comfortable, convenient

Posted Feb 17, 2015
The hotel is sleek and stylish and the staff was incredibly pleasant. Our family enjoyed the free pool table in the lounge and the salt water swimming pool. During our stay, Chapel Hill lost power from a fierce storm, but the hotel staff handled the outage very professionally. The only drawback was having to pay for parking.

Trendy budget hotel

Posted Feb 14, 2015
This is the second Aloft I have stayed at. Aloft is part of the Starwood hotel chain. It is basic with a Mod touch. Budget version of W hotels. very rough bed linens. $10 valet parking (very limited parking space).
