Spotty or weak wireless internet

Pros: For the price, the rooms are adequate. Additionally, my room had a microwave oven and a refrigerator - there is a Trader Joe's nearby.
Cons: The lack of a consistently strong wireless internet connection is unacceptable.
This Days Inn is located on the main road to University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; the property is two to three miles from the main campus and the medical center. Therefore, one would assume that most guests chose this Days Inn because of its proximity to UNC-CH, and that many of those guests have academic affiliations with UNC. However, despite the hotel's convenient location, I did not have a satisfactory stay during my four nights at this Days Inn because of the spotty, weak, or non-existent wireless internet in my room. I rarely could get any internet connection on my work laptop, and only an intermittent and often weak signal on my iPad. However, when I went to the lobby area, both my wireless devices could achieve a strong, continuous Days Inn connection. I inquired with the front desk staff person about the weak wireless access in my room; however, he attributed it to the recent winter storms, and he sad that one area of the hotel had a "bad" repeater. As a result of this wireless problem, I couldn't do any work while I was at the Chapel Hill Days Inn, nor could I read the news or watch any movies on my wireless devices. In summary, I advise against choosing this Chapel Hill hotel if one relies on her or his wireless devices for work, for information, or for pleasure.

Bad hotel bathroom very cold

Room very small, not easy to locate in the dark. Rooms opened to the outside not in a hallway and bathroom very cold with no vent or way to heat bathroom.

Cool Overnight Option

Definitely no frills...but it's clean and as a female traveling alone, I felt safe in my room on the second floor. It was relatively quiet. If you're a light sleeper the only issue might be being able to hear the doors slam every time someone comes and goes in another room, but if not you should be fine here for a night or two.

Pros: Price and great location to all I need.
Cons: More selection on breakfast buffet.
Location: Close to mall, work out gym O2, UNC and many good eating places on 501/15
Stayed 4 nights, in town for Tar Heel basketball. Saw 2 men's games and 1 women's. Great weekend. Look forward to next year when can do again. Will stay same place.

Convenient location, less than friendly

The hotel was clean enough and the location was good for Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, (Starbucks), and other shopping within easy walking distance. It is on a main thoroughfare, however with an orientation towards the side and a grassy, wooded area, the rooms were quiet. I found the downside to be the 2 daytime front desk guys, who were less than helpful... just short of surly. They were able to check a person in, but otherwise just having a bad day, perhaps.

A place to crash

The location was perfect and the front desk staff were pleasant and accommodating. The room is very old but seemed routinely cleaned. Maintenance aesthetics/functionality looked questionable. Breakfast was available but at the most minimum. Air-conditioner/heater units on windows was not terribly loud but did dry out the room. The bed was comfortable enough. Since we were only staying one night and just needed mostly a place to crash, you could not beat the price to stay in this town. If we were to ever need a place to just crash again, we would probably choose this as long as it was only for one night and a few hours because of the price. The hotel did not smell nor was it loud, therefore, we were okay with most everything else.
