Very nice hotel!Posted Jul 27, 2015
Everything looked so good. We wish that there were some more restaurants near the hotel. We had to drive the restaurants for 10-15 minutes. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel.

Great hotel near familyPosted Jul 25, 2015
Pros: Overall experience was great, reasonable price.
Cons: Nothing needing attention.
Location: For us it was nearness to family. Didn't stay long enough to take in other attractions.
Great experience, friendly staff, clean rooms, quiet, excellent restaurant.

Weekend stay for a quiet get away. Actually had a room of problem folks across the hall. I didn't call security but someone did and observed them deal with it quickly and professionally. Roomy and comfortable. Very clean room. No problems

Lovely hotel, questionable management, LOUDPosted Jun 16, 2015
Pros: See above
Cons: See above
We have stayed in this hotel several times when visiting Durham to visit family and always enjoyed it, but this was our first summer experience. It was a whole new experience in the summer -- much noise in common areas with some people in their underwear (vs. swimsuits), large crowds pool hopping with toddlers and young kids with no adult supervision whatsoever, no concern for others in the pool or surrounding area, a party of visitors waiting for a ride from the hotel and actually barbequeing with flame and partying and picnicing on the outdoor patio areas well into the night. I also understand someone's purse was stolen from the pool area during these times. When my husband spoke to management, they obviously knew and did not care. We did not care about and rather enjoyed the loud, live music from the special event happening on the back courtyard (great R&B music), but that may not be for every guest's liking. This is not a place to go for peace and quiet or a retreat of any kind in the warm weather. The rooms are lovely and spacious but walls are sometimes thin -- we could hear our neighbors' TV from the next room late into the night which did not make for good sleeping. We love that there are refrigerators and microwaves in the rooms and lots of light and space.

Nice Hotel very cleanPosted Jun 4, 2015
I was on a long trip and stayed in 5 hotels. The Doubletree was the cleanest of the five and the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Great place for overnight stay.Posted Jun 1, 2015
Pros: Location, warm cookie on check-in. Friendly staff.
Cons: Couldn't find the ice machine anywhere and there was nothing in the room to tell us about all the amenities. Had to look on the website for more.
Had a very late check-in, staff was so nice and room was perfect. Quite location and lots to do onsite. Really wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy it all.

Stay at DoubleTree Suites, Durham NCPosted Apr 28, 2015 on Hotels
I would definitely stay here again. However, it would be nice if there was no charge for the wiFi service.
