Quiet and secludedPosted Oct 22, 2014 on Hotels.com
Hotel is located in the close proximity of I85 entrance ramp in a quiet and secluded area. Management was friendly and ready to assist with guest's requests. An easy access to the local road with low traffic volume is a plus. Hotel amenities are very basic but local restaurants are within easy driving distance. We will consider this place during our next visit to this location.

We booked at noon an arrived four hours later. There was no problem and the persons worked at the hotel were very nice.
Terrible hotelPosted May 15, 2014
Cons: Everything, needs to be remodeled.
I was very disappointed in this hotel. The photos are not the same as seeing in person. I did not sleep any the night I stayed there. It wasn't clean and did not smell clean. Very old, not up to day. WON'T STAY THERE AGAIN!

Couldn't get non-smoking roomPosted May 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
We arrived at 3:30 in the afternoon to find they had only smoking rooms left. She said Expedia/Hotels.com over booked them and me and the next 5 people were getting smoking rooms instead of our requested non-smoking room. The room smelled of smoke. There were no hangers. The carpet was ripped, as were the drapes. The continental breakfast was two boxes of cereal. The only bright side is the coffee was good. I will not stay here again!

Not fancy but comfortablePosted May 6, 2014
Pros: Comfortable. quiet and nice setting off major roads with trees and areas to walk.
Cons: Could use some carpet replacement.
We were traveling with a pet and their fee was very reasonable especially when compared to the chains fees. Easy axxess to 85 from 70 and easy access to MEDICAL center.

Nothnig SpecialPosted May 1, 2014
Pros: It is in a quiet area close to the highway and shopping.
Cons: It is clean but old. A paint job would brighten theplace up a little.
Location: It is close to the highway with plenty of restaurants and a shopping mall close by.
This is a nice hotel when you just need a place to sleep that is clean and quiet.

did not likePosted Apr 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights... The breakfast they offered was awful, the desk clerk could not speak English... The television only showed a few channels... It was not in a very good location and looked very run down

What you expect for the price....Posted Mar 28, 2014
Perfectly acceptable low budget hotel. Clean, comfortable beds. Old motel style, the sign calls it the skyline inn - not the really long name they advertise. The breakfast was pretty basic, honey buns and muffins with coffee, juice and milk. May have been cereal, but I didn't notice it. Would stay there again.

The durham Skyland Magnuson Hotel was one of the worsiest hotel stays in my entire 56 years of living. My roommate and I froze like icecycle placed in the freezer. the television did not work and management refused to refund our monies. they almost held us hostage for four days except for the intervention of hotel.coms. I was completely frustrated as i cough all due to the night chill and the heat night working after the rain storm that took place in Durham. We end up in the comfort Inn next night that felt like the marriott and hilton hotel to us after that horrendous experience. i do not recommend unless you would like to experience a tragic experience. Poor continential Breakfasdt. berware of critters.

Manager was rudePosted Mar 12, 2014 on Hotels.com
We booked via Hotels.com because of a power outage due to an ice storm in our area. When we got there, after getting a confirmation number from Hotels.com, the manager, in a very rude and unfriendly manner, informed us that there were no available rooms for us to stay in. The motel looked like a dump anyway, so I am glad we did not stay there.
