Great staff - they were very friendly and helpful. Hotel food isn't always the best, but I enjoyed my dinner and breakfast.

A romantic place

Bed mattress was fluffy as a pillow. Interior decorating was something like babylon hanging garden. I would stay here again.

Dear; Love To Travel: Thank you for your comments on the bedding. Getting a good night's sleep is the most important part of the stay. I am delighted that you enjoyed it. I love the atrium too. The Koi fish are the favorite part. I hope to see you soon. Russ Smith General Manager

Pros: see above. Also, we ate in the Bistro restaurant one night and the food was excellent.
Location: Very convenient location.
Our stay was excellent and the breakfast buffet was great. Cook to order eggs or fresh eggs etc on the buffet. Also, the elevators were great, very little wait if any. Would return, no doubt about it.

I brought my daughter and a few of her friends there to celebrate her 9th bday. We stayed in a premium suite that was very large. We also had a Keurig machine (happy mom). The girls had a blast in the heated pool and Jacuzzi. I didn't get a chance to participate in Happy Hour..I'm sure it was nice though. The breakfast buffet was very filling (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, and other pastries. Will definitely stay again.

Great choice

Posted Nov 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
We were visiting family in the area and wanted a hotel that was easy to get to the surrounding areas. This fit the bill perfectly. Very convenient by being off I-40, but off the highway so as to be more private and not noisy. Hotel had wonderful full free breakfast every morning, with made to order omelets and anything else you might like in typical breakfast foods. Evening 2 hours free cocktail hour was an added pleasure. Hotel has a courtesy van that we used to take us right up the road (or you could walk) to lots of restaurants of all price points. Staff was very helpful and nice. Being a runner, the best part for me was the Umstead State park about 1/2 mile up the road, lots of trails to hike, run, walk and bike on. Loved it!

Dear Gail: Thank you for choosing our hotel for your family visit. Thank you for your very nice comments on our location and nearby restaurants and retail. Umstead Forest just north of the hotel is a favorite of many of our guests. The trails connect for miles. You can actually bike or run from the Umstead entrance all the way to downtown Raleigh. Our complimentary breakfast and cocktails are favorite amenities for many of our regular guests. I hope to see you on your next vist to your family. Russ Smith General Manager
