Great customer service and nice roomsPosted Apr 23, 2012
Pros: Convenience, customer service
Cons: The bathroom in the lobby when I checked in was not clean
Location: Not very convenient to Duke, which is where my meetings were, but the price was worth the drive.
I arrived about 90 minutes before regular check in, but I had a meeting to get to so I asked to check in early. They were very accommodating about this. My room was clean and the furnishings were nicer than those at other residence inns I've stayed in. Overall, I was extremely pleased with my brief one-night stay.

the extended stay deluxe Durham NC RTPPosted Jan 22, 2012 on Hotels.com
The hotel was nice but the room was kind of small and the staff was very rude. It was the worst service I have recieved at a hotel.

DisappointedPosted Sep 12, 2011
The breakfast was very limited and there was nothing to drink but coffee. There was a $5 fee for room service that was not expected.

Grubby & TiredPosted Jul 8, 2011
On arrival I was allocated the furthest room from reception, but as there are loads of access doors from the parking lot it wouldn't have been a problem except for the fact that the wi-fi router is in reception! I don't know where the room photos on expedia came from, but none of the rooms I saw were anything like the photos. My room was tired, grubby & not cleaned very well. The chair & bed cover were stained so badly I wouldn't even sit on them. There were hairs in the bath and - even worse - hairs stuck in the fibres of the clean towel! The bath / shower tap (faucet) had so much mould & limescale that I just didn't want to touch it. There were no coathangers in the room so before I unpacked I had to go to Wallmart & buy some. The room was cleaned the day after I arrived and the day before I left with a week's gap in between - it wouldn't have been impossible to adjust the cleaning schedules so that the cleaning happened in the middle of my stay. If you want to stay here you need to get your own dishwashing tablets too. The staff were really friendly & helpful, and the reception area clean and welcoming. Just a shame the rooms didn't reflect this. I did ask at reception for a guide to the TV (what stations were on what channel), but they didn't have one. The room TVs are ancient and bulky and my remote didn't work, I can't believe that any hotel wouldn't have flat screen TVs nowadays. I wouldn't stay again, the staff were lovely, but the place needs some investment.

Convenient, Economical, CleanPosted May 14, 2011
Great value accomodations, close to Raliegh/Durham Airport, easy to find. I also used the food delivery service. They were quick and the food was pretty good. Pricey, but all room delivery meals are pricey. I will certainly plan to stay here again when I'm in the area.

Fine for the $Posted Apr 26, 2011
Although we requested a nonsmoking room, there was an odor of old smoke in the room. Rather than request another we opened the windows and aired it out. Breakfast is limited to prepackaged bagels, muffins, etc. Nothing terribly healthy. We were traveling with a small dog,so it was nice to find a pet friendly hotel, even with the additional per night fee,the room was affordable.

Do not stay in this hotel!Posted Apr 12, 2011 on Hotels.com
Arrived at this hotel, after driving 3 hours. Staff at the desk seemed fine. Received my room key and proceeded to my room on the second floor. The elevator door opens up and I am greeted by mounds and mounds of garbage bags laying on the floor. I proceed to my room. It is dark-ish so I put my lugguge down and leave for dinner. I have to be at Duke Medical Center early in the morning. When I return to the hotel, I notice a note on the exterior door, that THE DOORS DO NOT WORK AND THEY DO NOT UNLOCK WITH THE ROOM KEY!! Proceed to my room and go to bed. I get up early in the morning to be a Duke. Return to the room at 7:00pm and find the beds have not been made, no fresh towels, no vacumn and the bathroom has not been cleaned...Go to the desk, where they tell me, THE ROOMS ARE ONLY CLEANED ONCE A WEEK...(someone needs to call the health department) I return to the room and start to really look around...Plastic bottle caps, plastic lids dryed bread under the beds, paper and who knows what else is under there???? The sofa is dirty, the tables beside the beds and sofa has soda can marks on them. I do not think this room had really been cleaned for more than a few weeks.! This was truely an unacceptable experience and no one else should ever have to deal with this kind of horrible accomodations! "NO ONE SHOULD EVER STAY IN THIS HOTEL"!!! John T

Extended Stay Deluxe Durham-RTP--it was passablePosted Nov 21, 2010 on Hotels.com
The front desk needs a little re-training on customer service. At check in, the girl made a personal joke that really wasn't appropriate for someone you don't know. I had a broken coffee maker in my room and I asked to have it replaced. The girl forgot to look for one, so six hours later, it was finally replaced. The dvd player was not hooked up correctly and couldn't be used. The excuse given by the front desk is that there were no maintenance guys on duty, so there wasn't really anything they could do. For the price and location, tho, it was passable stay.
