Recently renovated is not entirely accuratePosted Feb 25, 2014
Pros: The free breakfast was one of the better examples I've had. The bed was nice enough, with a nice cover.
Cons: Lot of broken/non-functioning things. No room cleaning service on the weekends is fine, except that means refills on the coffee/creamers for the room.
Location: Near to a mall and several eating places. Close to highway, but no highway noise.
Bathroom door lock broken, blow dryer didn't work, carpet hadn't been vacuumed- (at least that's what the bottom of my socks said). grab bar in shower was broken, bathroom fan didn't work, and the door lock wouldn't engage. Check in was easy, check out was easy. I did use the laundry room, everything worked fine there. Location was a bit difficult to find, as it's an entrance to a strip mall with only a tiny sign for the hotel.

A weekend in Raleigh -I would stay there againPosted Feb 25, 2014
Location: There are two restaurants near the hotel, but if you want variety you have to drive about two-three miles away. I went to the Cary Towne Center.
I enjoyed my stay at Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Raleigh. The 1st night I arrived it was a little difficult to find the hotel off of Buck Jones Rd. because there is no left turning lane you have to drive over the yellow painted island and then go down the hill. You can see the Hawthorn lighted sign from Buck Jones Rd. The lobby is fairly small, but the front desk person was very friendly. The front desk person is not usually at the counter, but there is a bell to ring to get their attention. I had a room on the 1st fl., room 113, which is handicapped accessible with walk-in shower. The room had a little kitchenette with a two burner stove, very noisy refrigerator, ice maker, plates, utensils, pitcher, dish towels, a pot and a microwave. I did not use the kitchenette stuff, so I don't know how will they work. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. There was free wifi. On the 1st floor the single was strong. I don't know if it remains strong as you go further away from the lobby. The hotel didn't have cleaning service on the weekends, so I don't know how that went, but the room was stocked with towels, hand towels, and wash clothes. The gym equipment is wicked old, I don't remember seeing free weights either. The breakfast offered by the hotel included eggs, bacon, cereal, bagels, oatmeal, coffee, juice, make your own waffles, apples, bananas, and yogurt.

this hotel is a bargain!Posted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: clean, updated, comforable
Cons: too much noise from the floors above us
Location: pnc center, restaurants, flea market
everything about this hotel is really perfect...location is close to a lot of amenities. very clean... updated kitchen has everything you would need. bedding is very comfortable. breakfast is basic but very good...waffles, eggs, bacon, bagels, coffee etc. only down side is that we could hear people walking above us all night..cant imagine being below a family with kids or dogs. i would suggest an upper room floor to avoid this. this hotel is an excellent value!!

very nice and clean hotelPosted Feb 10, 2014
Pros: kitchen area, cleanliness, breakfast..close to a lot of nice areas.
Cons: we could hear people walking around upstairs all night..
Location: close to the flea market, pnc arena, downtown
we were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. it was updated and very clean. the kitchen area was really nice, bed and bedding were very comfortable. the only down to this hotel is that if you are on a bottom floor as we were, you can hear people walking in the room above you. we heard people walking around all night and although it wasnt loud, it was bothersome. i can see it being very annoying if a family with children running were up there or a large group of people. we would definitely stay here again...its a great value for what you get. might request an upstairs room next time.

Pleasantly surprised.Posted Feb 10, 2014
Pros: Color choices, bed comfort, room size, proximity to I40 and downtown Raleigh.
Cons: Tub drainage, cracked tile, door access - key card wouldn't work for the front door.
Location: Billiards bar was walking distance, main street had plenty of shopping options especially at the main intersection where you exit/enter I40.
The hotel's recent renovations made for a pleasant surprise. Located in what looks like an executive park, made for a no traffic noise stay. Perfect size room with no room-to-room noise. We wanted to be relatively close to downtown Raleigh without being downtown and this location was ideal. Suite was equipped with fridge and 2 burner cook top, bed was comfortable although sheets were a bit warn, a few imperfections in the bathroom, large tub, nice shower-head, water slow to drain, continental breakfast provided, and nice color palette. All-in-all, we'd return to this location for a full weekend stay without hesitation.

Great hotel for the dealPosted Feb 3, 2014
Needed a hotel and this one had a special sale price. Great hotel for a very late check-in for a last minute hotel decision. Got it for under $60

Close to many amenitiesPosted Jan 28, 2014
Pros: Close to everything, friendly staff.
Cons: Dripping faucet in tub and clear signs and visiblity from the main road.
My Daughter & I took a college tour weekend to visit Duke & NCSU. There was plenty of restaurants and stores in the area and the hotel was all we needed with a full fridge & microwave. My only complaint was the turn for the Hotel was a bit tricky and obstructed.
