“my favorite”

My son and I have stayed in a half dozen different hotels from basic to very exclusive in the past few months while on college visits and this was my personal favorite. It had all the basics, including still having a 4 cup coffee-maker in the room. The room was more spacious than expected. We could not find any vending machines to get a soda late-night but that was the only minimal disappointment. The continental breakfast had more variety than most as well.

“Comfortable and reasonable”

While this is not a four star hotel, it is comfortable (bed was great), quiet (even if your room faces the highway), and clean. This was my second stay and I would return because it is in a convenient location. The Red Lobster is a good place for a meal. Obviiously not gourmet, but good price and solid food.

“Great place in Durham / Chapel Hill”

This is a great place to stay in Durham / Chapel Hill. Pets welcome with no extra cost. Minutes away from UNC Chapel Hill hospital. Very nice location.

“Would Return”

Basic room was very nice for an overnight stay. Had a strong in-room wireless connection and the breakfast was nice as well. All in all a nice room for the value.

“Would recommend”

The staff was pleasant and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the room clean. The continental breakfast was fine. If you are bothered by road noise, I would recommend asking for a room in the back of the hotel. We had a room in the front, but the noise didn't bother us.

“Would stay there again”

Compared to hotels in its price range, this hotel felt spacious--the room, the hallways, the lobby. Our room was very clean, and the morning maid service was prompt even though the place was totally booked. Breakfast was standard except that the make-your-own waffles were an extra nice touch. We had a room on the back side, overlooking the court yard and pool, so it was very quiet despite the hotel being on a busy highway. Lots of dining choices are nearby. Very convenient to Durham, Chapel Hill, and Raleigh. My 4 complaints: No traffic light to enter the highway, so difficult turning left out of hotel (which is actually on a service road); the blow dryer was lame (bring your own); the weight equipment in the fitness room was awful; a lot of light and sounds came in around the edges of the door to the room--seems it could be better sealed--which made the room too bright at night.

Area recommendations

We stayed there while touring colleges in the area with our high schooler, and this was conveniently located for that purpose.
