The quality was good for the price there was no issues. If you use an hairdryer you would need to bring it with you if don't book their upgrade room.

Hotel is close to downtown Raleigh.

Staffers are friendly, but I found the bathroom to be unclean and a cockroach roaming around. Also, the occupants staying next to my room had a dog that constantly barked.

Home in a Hotel

Posted Dec 8, 2014
Cons: The only improvement I would suggest is maybe look to either upgrade the hallway flooring, either new carpet or hardwood flooring...
Having stayed in a different Red Roof Inn in raleigh before, it was excellent to see the difference between the two. The upgrades to the facilities are modern and give it a feeling of home, just in a hotel. The flat screen tvs, the hardwood flooring, the room furniture, fridge microwave the lot... I have stayed at this location twice and it seems to get better with each stay...

It's fine.

Clean and convenient. The breakfast is a joke (a muffin, water, and some oatmeal and a granola bar if you want it).

Pros: It was clean, friendly, and had free wifi
Cons: More inviting breakfast. I think there was only coffee- and maybe fruit?
Location: It is near a nature trail that is one the way to the convention center area about 45 minute walk.
The hotel was everything I asked- a clean, not too expensive, place to sleep. Bed was comfortable. This is not a luxury hotel, but it had a bed, a bathroom and was clean. It also had free wifi which I was happy with. I kept having to get my key card re-actived in the evening, but this was not a big deal. They ordered me a taxi to get back to the airport which was an airport shuttle. I did not realize this and it was more expensive than the regular taxi I had taken to the hotel. The hotel is about 1.5 mi from the convention center area, which is walkable if you take some back roads ( a reasonably pleasant walk, but not very convenient (about 45 minutes). It was not clear how to take the bus safely because of the large highway. The taxi cost about $10 to get into town.

Not bad for the price

Much more affordable than the hotels right next to the conference center, which is why my friend and I chose to stay there. It was a bit tough getting to and from though. The hotel was about 2 miles away and while very close to the bus route, but the bus system itself was kind of crummy so we often paid to take a cab. The room was nice and clean and we slept very well each night. The toilets were very cheap though and the handle kept coming off when we tried to flush. Awkward. Breakfast was meager- coffee, instant oatmeal, and apples - but free. Stay here but not if you are super picky about your accommodations.

Not my favorite

Cons: Breakfast, a water bottle and a packaged danish is not breakfast. Likewise providing actual milk/cream (as opposed to the powdered stuff)
I traveled to Raleigh for a conference and this hotel was listed as an option. The presence of other conference participants "saved" this experience for me, were it not for them it would have felt a bit sketchy. One of the selling points was the proximity to the convention center (less than 1.5 mi) being fit I planned to walk to and fro only to find out that the only way to get from one to another was on a highway so a taxi was a must. Likewise there was no place within walking distance to get food.
