Safety and conveniencePosted Nov 8, 2014
Usually use the Brookwood for medical reasons... this time for pleasure. Saved about 30% off medical rate by using Expedia. Was placed in back annex with only one double bed but it was fine. Free shuttle took us to our destination. Would stay again.

Clean hotel with nice staffPosted May 19, 2014
Pros: The staff, location. and computer room.
Location: There are some great eating establishments in Durham. "The Pit", "Piedmont", "Fosters", "Dames", and Nana's were all great. Eat at them all!
We stayed there three nights over Duke graduation weekend. The room was clean and the staff very nice and helpful. The computer office they had set up was very good. I felt like the place was a little worn but still very nice.

Pros: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
From check-in to check-out, staff was pleasant and friendly. Decent restaurant, serving breakfast and lunch, on the premises. Room was clean and attractive. Amenities were very nice.

PleasingPosted Apr 19, 2014
Pros: The rooms were clean and beds well made. Small but since you are only there for a night it was fine.
Cons: Beds were not that comfortable, and when in the hospital all day you need a good bed. Pillows were way to big to be comfortable, bring you own!
Location: Location is great
The front staff when checked in was wonderful, and the shuttle driver was great. The two things I was a little put our for was: when staying in a hotel and have a medical rate, and being so close to Duke I think they should have soap in the rooms that is antibacterial, for people who are having surgery in the morning. When checking out the lady was very rude and not very pleasing at all. the only two words she said is checking out, no thank you, come back to see us, was a big change from the time when we checked in.

Cheap, but you get what you pay for.Posted Apr 14, 2014
-They have a "back building" where they can choose to stick you for your stay. -Cinnamon scent masks the smoky smell of the building. -Hotel staff forgot the take hospitality training...not mean....but, you are made to feel like you're in their way when you ask a question. -I'll be going back to the comfy Hampton Inn :)

Medical needsPosted Mar 2, 2014
Staff with no personality. 2 very nice gentleman who really did help. One shuttle driver and one helper. Nothing worked... Door with a key, vending machine, etc. The heat in the room and cleanliness was up to par. It wAs fairly cheap and I needed it for my medical needs. I would try somewhere else next time I have to visit.
