“Great room and very comfortable”

My husband had to have surgery and we stayed at the Duke University Inn, it was clean and comfortable, it was nothing fancy but it was livable. The staff was great help and everything we needed was in walking distance. We will stay there again when my husband has a second surgery and has his treatment. I would give this hotel a 10. The let us check in before my husbands appt time so we could get some rest.

“Best Value I have Experienced”

I have stayed in very expensive and very cheap hotels all over the world and I have to say that this was by far the best value for the money I have ever experienced. It was a low cost alternative for a last minute trip and I was incredibly pleased. Clean, friendly helpful staff, and a spartan but nice and FREE breakfast to boot. I would defintely stay there again. This was not a luxury hotel by any means, but for a very spacious room, in a well kept facility, with ideal location to the Duke Medical center you cannot beat it. Its about a 20 minute walk to the Duke basketball facilites(the purpose of our travel).

Make no mistake, this isn't a luxury hotel. But if you need a clean, comfortable room at a good price then you can't go wrong with the University Inn.

“A good place to stay if one needs to be near Duke U Hospital”

This hotel was clean and comfortable, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is not much - just the basic pastry, cereal and bagel. There's no fruit or real milk for coffee. However, our room was equipped with a microwave oven and small refrigerator; therefore, we could buy our own breakfast foods at a store and prepare them in our room. In all, our stay there was very pleasant, and we would certainly book a room in this hotel again.

“Good for visiting Duke hospital”

Jumbo room very large and can accomodate a family who is visiting Duke hospital. Staff is kind and curteous.

Convenience to Duke Hospital and ease of reaching from the Durham Freeway was a big plus.

“Good But,”

This is a decent hotel in the perfect location to access the medical centers. The room was very nice and comfortable, only drawback were the curtains. You can not close the thick curtain to block out the excessive light during the night. All there is is a thin white see through curtain covering the middle of the window so you don't feel like there is a lot of privacy to the room.

“Served its purpose”

The hotel had everything I needed- it was close to campus, had a small breakfast and the room was clean. It was by no means high end but sufficient for the price and location. I would definitely recommend it again to someone who might not want to pay a great deal.
