Pros: The rate and free continental breakfast
Cons: Bed linens were not soft enough and the comforter was stained. Since it was during the hot July season, I placed it on the floor.
Location: The shopping at Southpoint was great but didn't have time to do other things.
I stayed in this hotel for convenience and rate while attending a business convention at the Sheraton Regency.

We have stayed overnight on multiple occasions prior to flying out of RDU... conveniently located off I-40... polite & helpful staff... clean rooms... good complimentary breakfast... complimentary shuttle to & from RDU... on site long-term parking... reasonable rates.

Hotel staff makes the differencePosted Jun 26, 2015
Pros: One very nice room, one less so. Very good breakfast included.
Cons: The night staff could be more attentive.
Location: The Duke gardens are nearby, as well as downtown Durham. Not too many good restaurants within walking distance.
We stayed at the Wingate twice in a little over a week. On the first visit, we arrived at RDU in the early morning and went to the hotel. The assistant manager gave us a wonderful room immediately, even though official check-in time was about 5 to 6 hours later. He was very helpful and printed out google searches for us of things to see in Durham and great places to eat. On our last visit, we had a somewhat different experience. The desk clerk was perfunctory and gave us a much less desirable room. We also asked her for a 3:00 am wake-up call for an early flight out. We spoke with the night clerk at length, giving him several items that we had purchased while in NC (bottled water, cooler, food) that we would not be taking home. He was very appreciative of that. We also reminded him that we needed that 3:00 am wake-up because the alarm clock in the room didn't work very well. No wake-up call, and nobody at the front desk when we checked out. We left the key cards on the counter and left. This is a pretty nice facility, but who you deal with makes all the difference in the quality of your stay.

Quiet, modern comfortPosted May 25, 2015
Less than 10 minutes drive from RDU, free hot breakfast, modern decor, clean, not much more you can ask for. There's also a 24hr Walmart Supercenter nearby in case.

Very nice hotel, great staff.Posted May 10, 2015
Pros: I like everything about the hotel.
Cons: I do not have suggestions, it is an excellent hotel.
Location: I worked the weekend in Raleigh, and I like to get out of the city. Nice quiet setting, but close to great food, malls, etc.
I really enjoyed staying, it was a very good experience.
