Basic HotelPosted Mar 5, 2014
Pros: Great hotel for divers.
Location: About 30 minutes from Key West.
There was nothing fancy about this hotel. It was exactly what we were looking for; a bed, a shower, A/C, and fridge. The adjoining tiki bar was a hoot! Perfect for a quick trip to the Keys.

Don't waste your money!Posted Feb 23, 2014
Pros: Location was good, beautiful area.
Cons: New beds, new window in bathroom. A lot of noise comes in there. No motor cycles between the bar and motel. Just plain too loud.
Location: Only about 25 miles to key west, nice state park just to the north. If you like to party, it's a great place for you!
The bar is loud until 2a.m., noise starts again early morning. Boats making noise on the other side of the building. Loud motor cycles right out side your door all hours of the night. The single plug in, in the bathroom didn't work, the floors were dirty, beds are deplorable. All broken down springs and old mattress. Food wasn't very good at the Tiki bar. Parking always full of bar people! No spaces reserved for hotel guests. If you go out in the evening good luck finding any parking when you get back.

Pros: Ideally located for our needs. Not far from Key West and not far from relatives we wanted to visit.
Cons: The only problem I had was knats in the room.
Location: Key West is close and there are beaches near by. Plenty of restaraunts.
Found the room clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Clean and centrally located!Posted Feb 16, 2014
Pros: Tiki Bar and resturant on site. Short drive to Key West and other ammenities.
Cons: Parking in relationship to rooms. They are currently in the process of updating rooms. I was told that new mattresses are on the way!
Location: Resort is a dive shop and boat access is out the back door.Resturants and markets are close by. Short drive from Big Pine Key
Overall, good experience. A taste of 'old' Florida. Great staff.

Great location for diving.Posted Feb 14, 2014
Cons: Better parking, full time management.
Location: Great location for snorkeling and scuba diving.
Very handy if you are planning to scuba or snorkel dive. We enjoyed the sitting area behind the units overlooking the canal. Fed fish from there. Downside is the nearby location of a noisy tavern and eatery. Food is not very good there. We found staff very helpful, although hotel management is based out of the tavern at nighttime. Parking not great.

OK for the price, just keep your expectations low.Posted Feb 7, 2014
Pros: Staff was good and very friendly
Cons: Too many items to mention...
Location: Scuba diving trips from the hotel!
Great staff and good dive shop. The rooms are simple with lots of little things wrong like the outlet near the bed was completely hanging out. The bar and grill was fun but extremely loud when you wanted to go to bed. Do not know if bikers are regulars but every night around 2am a handful of bikers would sit outside and rev their engines. If you need cheap accommodations, you are not picky and don't mind being woke up a few times a night, this motel will work. Just to clarify, there is NO BEACH within walking distance - the state park on Marathon about 10 miles away is the closest beach.
Loudest motel everPosted Jan 30, 2014
Pros: Reasonable price.
Cons: Bed, water.
Location: 40 minutes from Key West. Nothing close by.
The motel is right in front of the bar, where live music is on till 11 pm. Very loud and drunk people are outside talking loud, too. If you are one of them, this motel would be perfect but if you just want stay quietly, avoid this motel. The bed squeaked and water didn't come out well in the bathroom sink .
Nice hotel, but no breakfast.Posted Jan 20, 2014

Beds not so comfortable Would not recommend to anybody else.

Average room rate in Key West was $250 and I paid $89 at Looe Key. Took approximately 35 minutes to drive to Key West. Rooms were basic, but clean and staff were very friendly. If I go back to Key west, I would definitely stay there again.
