Great place to stay at, within Mt Kinabalu Park. Excellent services and friendly staff. Great place to stay at if you like trekking. Good food and a nice fireplace to keep warm during cold evenings.

The staff at the reception and Liwagu restaurant is attentive and courteous. KKNP is a great place to experience nature walks. The paved roads are maintained and clean. However the room & furniture is aged and requires maintenance. While the air quality in the open is refreshing and cooling, the room is stuffy. A fan to circulate the spacious room would help. The property certainly needs upgrading.

The property is within the Kinabalu National Park, so it is surrounded by the flora and fauna of the rainforest, which is so dense and delightful. The hiking trails are nearby and even walking up to the first checkpoint is very convenient. I loved my time there lots as an escape from the city life.

Very peaceful stay, some of the facilities could use an upgrade and the restaurant is a bit average taste wise, but overall if you love nature you will love it here.

I stayed at Peak Lodge. The view is beautiful. However , the lodge is a little dated and deserves a refurbishment .overall, it's comfortable without much hassle Staff are very friendly and responsibke .I left so personal belongings behind and Azlan managed to deliver it to KK city to my friend. so disappointing
it remain the best option in Kundasang but every time maintenance and services are getting worst... this time, in one of the best villas they have, paid RM 800 for one night stay, not enough hot water for all guests to have a shower. My bed blanket had a big stain on one side. Restaurant is becoming ridiculously bad... overpriced, specially at breakfast time, doesn’t offer enough options and quality of food for the level of the Sutera resort..... RM 28 for french toasts that are just 2 slices of bread, 3 very small slices of banana (1/6 of a normal banana fruit), and and a spoon of honey!!?? I still recommend the place for a stay mostly because there are no better options but avoid the restaurant at all

The Nepenthes Villa we stayed in was idyllic - perfect for curling up on the sofa in front of the fireplace. We loved being surrounded by nature while still having the conveniences of modern living like heated water for a warm shower.

The bed is Comfortable keep us warm from cooling environment but ceiling Light only one working. Don't bother to called maintenance, arrived late night so just wanted to rest and sleep.

Affordable nice hotel option in Kinabalu Park
Better than expected stay in the Jungle of Kinabalu National Park. The basic room is very spacious, a loft with a balcony. There is no internet here, but you can connect to via satellite on your cell (use the hotspot option for laptops). The stay is like no other. Your 6K feet up and it get chilly at night. Heat in the room is provided. The jungle sounds at night are unforgettable. And that's what make this a must stay. There a some short jungle trails right outside your door. Dare to take a twilight hike? There is a restaurant onsite. Service so so

I visited this Hotel in April 2019 and I was very happy with a beautiful room in the Nephentis Villa... Top quality room and all the house was perfect.. I cannot say the same this time, in the Peak Lodge... Room was nice and clean but very basic if compared to Nephentis, and You still pay rm 500 for 1 night so I was expecting something better. Also I was not expecting to find leakage in the bathroom and, even after reporting the problem to the reception, and getting their assurance that someone will take care of that, nobody came to fix the problem in 2 days of my stay in Kinabalu National Park. WIFI in the room was not working at all... Other unpleasant point this time was the way I was addressed by one of the girls in the reception that, even if she was speaking a good english, was continuing to talk to me in Bahasa and in a very fast way so that it was very difficult for me to understand her... I confirm then the bad quality of their breakfast that, for rm 55 per person, is not at all worthy.... in the end, I was quite disappointed of this stay... maybe is time to change hotel for our next stay in kundasang..

The fireplace was lovely and made the whole place feel really cosy. Staff was courteous and accommodating to our numerous requests inuding adding rollaway beds etc. The property could do more in terms of providing basic cutleries, bowls and plates.

A good place to stay inside the National Park
We stayed at the Hill Lodge for a couple of nights recently, it being the most economical option. These are small, self-contained units with twin beds, en-suite, small balcony and fridge/television/kettle etc. It was perfectly fine, though these units are starting to show their age somewhat. Another drawback - the walls between the units are quite thin, so if a baby is crying next door you WILL hear it. The restaurant is quite nice and reasonably-priced, considering the hotel's location. Staff were lovely. The location - simply stunning. The other lodges - Rajah, Nepenthes etc, look to be a clear notch above the Hill Lodge, but are commensurately more expensive.

Fantastic stay for Kinabalu climb
We stayed at Sutera for one night before our Kinabalu climb and it had a great stay. The Hill Lodge we stayed in was fairly clean, quite spacious, and had the amenities we needed. Check-in was smooth and painless, they explained the grounds to us and then had a car take us to the lodge as it’s about a 5 minute drive from the main HQ area. We had the breakfast buffet in the morning which had lots of options including tea and coffee. The buffet lunch doesn’t include the tea and coffee for some reason. Location wise you’re really in the remote wilderness and everyone we ran into was staying there to do the climb over the next couple days.

Great for a good night's sleep before the hike
Really good service and value for money. Decent rooms with okay beds, towels and coffee/tea. It's still a hostel so don't expect luxury. Sound isolation not the best, again a hostel so wear earplugs. Warm shower night before the hike to mt. Kinabaluun was really welcome. If you're not by car and worry about the distance to the park entrance, don't - they have transport service.

We found a very good bed and an excellent shared living room but we also couldn't sleep because of the snoring from the neighbour room and a door that couldn't be closed and was clapping with the wind the whole night. Morning shower was awful as the door couldn't be closed and we had to take the shower in freezing cold wind.

the way to the room is not safety, because we arrived late at8pm+, hotel staff should show us the way to the room, we didnt know where is the room located, the road is too dark.im surprised when i arrived at the room because totally difference from the picture shown at expedia and expedia stated air conditioned, private toilet and balcony at bedroom but there is shared toilet, no aircorn and no balcony.luckily the weather vy cold at night and it doesnt need any aircorn at night. this place not suitable for family to stay, only suitable for adults.
