Nice hotel close to Mount Rushmore.

We had paid for a suite with two queen beds and a sofa bed. We got a room with one king bed. We did get that fixed, however the sofa bed was broken, not sure if it was fixed after we left. The staff was very nice though and the room seemed clean.

Very comfortable rooms and great staff. The breakfast was good and food was hot. It is nestled on the side of a hill and not right in the middle of a city. Nice scenic view.

This hotel has a great location very close to Mt Rushmore. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. They were very helpful answering all our questions. The breakfast staff made sure we always had fresh eggs. We would definitely stay here again.

scheduled to stay 5 nights, left after 3 nights

Posted Aug 28, 2013
Pros: The Beds and Pillows
Cons: See aove, but better internet service, and certianally a better breakfast. Adding bacon would be nice. The coffee in the refreshed in the afternoon.
Location: Mount Rushmore,Bear County, Cosmos,Keystone itself, Caves and gold mine tour, the ski lift and Alpine sled ride down the mountain were all good.
There were several reasons I choose this hotel, close to visit what we wanted to see. the adververtised on line and in flasing lights on the hotel sign, WI Fi access. The boys had along their Kindle to watch movies, I my PC as I had some on-line work to do. we were not able to establish a good connection at all and struggled the whole 3 nights( scheduled for 5 but we left after 3, but still had to pay for 5), there was one night we happened to wake at 2:30 in the morning where we had connection speed to do what we wanted and needed to do. Despite calls to the front they were going to look into it and call back, but never did. The morning breakfast eggs and sassage was not appetizing at all, eggs were watery and taseless, Very low quailty sausage. The boys alsowanted to use the pool. It was closing the first night there for maintenace after 10pm, which was obviuos that it needed attention. The watee appeared a greenish blue. We never did venture into the pool, which is amazing for my 8 and 10 year olds whom spent a couple hours at ever other htoel we stayed at on the way out and back. When my oldest who is 10 said, Dad I dont want to swim in that. I will give them credit for their very comfortable beds and pillows, thats it! We went to Rapid City and paid additional to find what we were looking for. BW

Night staff was a Nighmare

Posted Aug 25, 2013
Pros: The only good things were, clean rooms and great day staff behind the desk.
Cons: Get responsible and caring night staff
The night Staff was terrible, they were non-responsive and really did not care about anything. We arrived at 2 am in the morning and nobody responded to the front desk bell or door bell or phone calls to the desk, hoping that the night person had a portable phone. After walking through the entire hotel, including all maintenance rooms, storage rooms, etc., I finally went behind the front desk and found a back room where the night person was sleeping. The next morning I used the lobby restroom and told the same night staff person there was no hand soap in the men's room, I used the same restroom later that day and still no soap. The next night there was a different night person, had to track him down, but did not take to long. Informed this different night person of No hand soap in the lobby men's room, he said OK but his head was in a book, check the lobby men's room the next morning and informed that second night person still no soap. Anyway, the night staff had no care for customers or taking care of the facility. The breakfast was average to poor all 3 mornings.
