Well worth it

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: Proximity to attractions, especially the pick up location for tour
Cons: Lobby could be a little cleaner - animal hair on floor. There was an odor outside of the hotel but not really something that management can control
Location: Toured Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, and Crazy Horse Museum. Visited Country Bear USA, Cosmos, and downtown Rapid City
The hotel was exactly what we were looking for...clean, near attractions, friendly staff, and fairly cheap rates Stayed here with family members as home base for tourist attractions. Booked a tour to Mt Rushmore and the pick up was located in parking lot adjacent to ours - very convenient! Breakfast in the morning was a little crowded but nice selection. Rooms were decent size and maid service was prompt.

On the way to Black Hills

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Very grim flourescent lighting and too many mirrors. Fabric on window seat cushion wAs badly stained and grungy. Clean sheats covered grimy comforters. It was our " last resort " and should be yours. Not cheap for the room condition .

Good First impression was lacking

Posted Jul 8, 2014
-outside of building needs TLC to lawn -our room had a strange smell -the tv was stuck on two channels and no way to fix it that night per the front desk help -the free breakfast was slim pickings, but enough to fill our tummies -front desk lady was very nice

The suite is a regular sized room.

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Cons: Do not call the room a suite. There is no more square footage than a regular hotel room.
We booked their "suite" for a six night stay wanting some extra room for our stay. To our surprise we found the suite to be no larger than a regular room with way too much furniture in the room for the space. We spent the first half hour re arranging the room so it was functional. Apparently regular rooms do not include a microwave and fridge, how ever the "suite" did as well as an island of empty cupboards. For a regular room at a rate of $80 a night this would be an ok deal. The shower in our "suite" was either super hot or freezing cold and made it miserable to take a shower. The continental breakfast was good and staff kept items well stocked. Would stay in something cheaper for amenities offered.

Great space for 6 travelers

Posted Jun 30, 2014
My husband, 2 children and my parents stayed here. The hotel is conveniently located. Arnold's next door is good food and atmosphere. Hotel room had a lot more space than I expected. Both rooms had the and a door separated the rooms. Breakfast (complimentary) was a nice start to the day. I'd come back and stay here again.

Laundry

Posted Jun 24, 2014
If the hotel advertises a laundry-then the washer and dryer need to work efficiently or be replaced. The warm only dryer took over 1hour to almost dry a single load. There was quite a back up of laundry. There was no place to sit down during the nearly 2hour process.

Great Location!

Posted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: Breakfast was wonderful! Biscuits & gravy and my girls favorite- WAFFLES!
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Custer Park is AMAZING - beautiful and worth the drive. We visited Bear Country-perfect time of year. Lots of BABIES - so sweet!!
Most everyone at the hotel was super helpful. The hotel is tucked back away from traffic and is close to many shops and restaurants my family wanted to visit.

Excellent hotel!

Posted Jun 3, 2014
We stayed for 4 nights while we biked and hiked the nearby trails. The hotel is like a full service cabin, with rustic decor, but breakfast buffet, 24 hour coffee, pool, sauna, whirlpool, and a pool table. What a great way to relax after a long day of outdoor activity! We'll definitely be back.
