“Would recommend to anyone!”

Had a great stay. Very clean. Hotel was just far enough away to get away from the crowds yet close enough it wasn't to far a drive to get to the crowds..would use this hotel again!

“Pros/Cons”

The beds were very comfortable. Able to get a good night's sleep after a long day's drive. Nice shower massage and plenty of hot water. Only drawback was the VERY DIM lighting; really bothered me a lot.

“Quiet getaway hotel”

The neighborhood was quiet which was nice. Hotel is several miles north west of Rapid City so the distance was a surprise. Hotel room and all areas were very clean. Hot breakfast was wonderful.

Area recommendations

So much to see....Deadwood, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Wind & Jewel Caves, Custer state park, the town of Wall, Badlands.

Dining

Alpine Inn in Hill City has a great filet mignon dinner for awesome price. Be sure to take cash since they do not take credit cards.

“SD”

The location was great if you are traveling between Deadwood and Mt. Rushmore. If however, you want more night life, I would suggest picking either destination instead of the half way point, like we did. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

“above expectations”

We were happy with the service and the over all quality of the hotel. We even had an unexpected private outdoor area off our room to enjoy the glorious mornings with a cup of coffee. The little restaurant next door was an added surprise. Never having been to Rapid City,S.D. it was great to have such great accommidations, just picking it over the internet.

Check out the little restaurant across the street called Summerset Bistro. It was great food!!

“Good hotel, but out of the way”

We were expecting this to be right in rapid city since it is in the name, but it is in the city of blackhawk, about a 20-30 minute drive. It was really inconvenient and we couldn't just walk over to get anything we needed in downtown rapid city.
