Center of Town

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: Centrally located for people who want to walk around town. Convenient parking structure. Staff couldn't be better. Discounts at the shop and spa
Cons: Get rid of the monstrously proportioned furniture in the rooms. Think Louis XVI rather than Bloated Biedermeier!
Location: Location was perfect, which is why I chose the hotel. Many shops, restaurants and museums nearby. Especially the Journey Museum and Prairie Edge.
Historic Hotel -If you have sensitive ears, don't stay here. terribly noisy pub and rooftop bar. Interior noise (from air conditioning coming from the outside and elevators) can be deafening for light sleepers (my ears are still recovering from earplugs). The rooms are over-burdened with HUGE furniture pieces that take up most of the interior spaces (Note to hotel - small is better and more aesthetically pleasing.) Too bad that not all rooms have the vaunted refrigerator amenities. I would wish that hotel management would get rid of the colossal chest of drawers and desks with sharp edges that provoke bruises on thighs and consider more space appropriate furnishings - and if then, the place would be almost ideal Staff is extremely helpful- no need to change anything there!

Nicely Renovated Historic Hotel

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: The view and the beautiful lobby.
Cons: Bigger living area and wider entrance.
Location: Plenty of bars and restaurants and shopping in downtown Rapid City nearby and inside the hotel.
The hotel is very old and historic, but has obviously had some recent renovations to bring it up to date. Our room seemed new, but you could tell it was obviously quirky the way they had to move around the old design of the place. There was an extremely cramped long hallway just inside the door, and then a fairly small living area. Yet, for some reason there was a closet big enough to fit an entire bed right next to the entrance door. The bathroom was tiny, but the shower was gorgeous.

Nice older hotel

Posted Jun 29, 2014
Location: Delmonico's restaurant was OUTSTANDING!
Nice older hotel...great location...Chubby Chipmunk truffles in lobby Yummy! The air conditioner in the room did not cool the room. We called maintenance and they promptly came and changed the filter but this did not correct the problem. Did not sleep well because the of the temperature of the room. Otherwise, would stay there again.

Pros: Roof Top bar was nice. the food and drinks were good. The room was clean. coupons are always good.
Cons: Food and drinks were pricey. One Crown and Coke was the same price as a signature coctail. Drink/food Voucher was not easily used or explained.
Location: center of town. very nice hotel.
Literally the only thing worth looking at in this city.

Downtown Rapid City, close to shopping/dinning.

Posted Apr 26, 2014
Pros: Roof bar, ambiance. Nice coffee shop with friendly staff.
Cons: Check in
Location: Great boutiques and dinning, presidents sculptures and great bookstore.
Desk clerks need training. You stand and wait while they take reservations instead of taking a message and calling back. Very annoying! Free drinks for roof bar and great views add to experience.

Fun area, right downtown

Posted Apr 14, 2014
I liked the hotel, right in the middle of downtown and all kinda of activity. However, the plumbing has issues. The toilets needed to be flushed 4 times and the hot water was unreliable.
