Nice hotel with a great location. Staff great and unit private. The Cooke Islands is quiet but this is probably the best location for most things. I would recommend this hotel

Pros: Friendly staff and position on the gorgeous Muri Beachfront. Friendly staff , helpful Reception desk.
Location: Right on the beautiful Muri Beach, great for snorkling to view amazing fish around the coral beds. Local bus goes right by both ways.
Pleasant well maintained Hotel Room, lovely friendly, helpful staff. Close to car/bike rentals , post office and visitor activities. Hotel has free use of bikes for use as well as snorkel gear, beach shoes and flippers.

Basic facilities, great location

Posted Feb 7, 2015
There are much nicer hotels in rarotonga. Muri Beachcomber has the basic facilites (no tv in room, no restaurant/bar etc) Rooms are reasonable size however the bed was two singles pushed together. Very uncomfortable. Rooms look into each other so minimal privacy. You have to put signs up to get your linen changed and room cleaned, the house keeper makes it seem like its a hassle. There are also other little things that let this place down such as the gardener mows the lawn at 8.30/9am. If you feel like sleeping in here you can't. House cleaner will keep knocking and coming into your room when you are alseep. Very good location on Muri Beach lagoon wise but there are nicer places in similar spots. Wifi very expensive even for rartonga with the worst reception.

We came back - that should vouch for everything

Posted Feb 2, 2015
Pros: Position, staff, amenities, peace.
Location: There are plenty of things to do depending on everyone's interests.
This is a nice hotel located in the middle of Muri Beach with a nice view on the lagoon and bordering islets. The beach is great for swimming, kayaking, paddling, sunbathing. For snorkeling you need to go to the coral reef. Not a big deal though. The hotel is a small place but with all necessary amenities. There are several good restaurants and cafes around plus a local Food Market next door on Tue, Wed, Thur, and Sun nights. Source of good relatively local and inexpensive food.

Great location, would recommend

Posted Dec 16, 2014
Pros: Location. Breakfast was a nice touch. Friendly, helpful team
Cons: Beds
Location: Great spot. I recommend Koka Lagoon Cruises (right next door) for a good day out
A well-organised hotel pickup from the airport - even despite a four hour delayed flight and a final arrival of around 1.30am - made it a stress-free start to our stay. Waking up to a view of the lagoon was magic. We found the location of Muri Beachcomber to be fantastic - close to all you would need. It is directly across the road from car and scooter rental, right next to a small general store (open til late 7 days) and close to eateries. Muri beach is a lovely area. The food market which is on four nights per week was excellent - relaxed atmosphere and good, inexpensive food. The accommodation was spacious and all you would need. The mattresses were unfortunately too soft and had dips in the middle which lead to sore necks and backs. There was also a relentless procession of tiny ants which kept coming into the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom - bug spray was supplied, so I imagine this is a common problem throughout the area. That all taken into account, I would still highly recommend Muri Beachcomber as a great spot and I would go there again. The reception team couldn't have been more helpful. I could not see any other hotel/resort with as many sea-view accommodations available - it was well designed. Sitting on one of the very comfy outdoor beanbags with my book (and/or a glass of bubbles), overlooking the lagoon and little islands was the enduring memory I will cherish from this holiday.

Fabulous Muri BeachComber

Posted Dec 11, 2014
Pros: Location, location. Great staff
Cons: nothing great place
Location: plenty of eating places, beach, use of paddle boards, kayaks
Staff were so friendly, even offered to drive us down the road on rainy day to meet friends for lunch. Location was great, bus stop right outside, food market was right next door. Loved the garden units right next to the pool (13 steps).

Great place to stay

Posted Nov 19, 2014
Pros: Great location. Henry the driver was really nice- its so great after a late flight to be collected and taken to the room.
Cons: Can't think of anything
Location: Great beach, night market and boat trips. But it is really a relaxing holiday, so take lots of books.
Had a great week here, plenty of space in the unit and really well equipped kitchen. Nice garden and pool area we felt there was plenty of room and it was private and quiet. Lots of places to eat around/local stores had all the essentials. We also were given late check out which was amazing and meant we were able to make the most of our last day.
