Close to the beachPosted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: It was close to beach and the Motel for eating out next door.
Cons: the towels in the Villa need to be anything but white as they were a dirty colour the tyles need to be replaced in the bathroom as they were cracked
Location: Car rentals across the road.
The stay in Rarotonga was nice, the people were friendly but the weather was not so good had good days and wet days.

Great beach access but in need of some TLCPosted Nov 1, 2013
Pros: Beach access. Separate huts. Nice breakfast. Friendly, courteous staff.
Cons: Room cleaning and maintenance.
Location: Right by the beach. Took the clockwise bus to the markets on Saturday morning. Close to car and bike hire and 5 minutes walk to local shop.
Great beach access - walk outside your room and you're on the beach. Each room is a separate hut with its own kitchen and bathroom, however the shower was outside, which was odd. The whole room felt like it needed just a little TLC and maintenance to bring it up to scratch, especially for the high prices we paid for it. For example, fixing broken tiles, replacing old wall coverings, new curtains. Overall, the location is good, and the staff were very helpful and kind, but the hotel itself is very disappointing.

Location, locationPosted Oct 21, 2013
Cons: the beds were too hard and could be upgraded.
Superb location and wonderful service. Our villa was 10 paces from the beach and very private.

disappointment at the Lagoon VillaPosted Oct 18, 2012 on Hotels.com
Lovely setting - and I imagine 10-15 years ago these villas were the ultimate in luxury. Sadly little appears to of been done on maintenance since then .... peeling paint in the bathrooms etc. A terrible musty smell from the kitchen cupboards thats fragranced the entire room (bought it to the attention of Ramon who addressed with a can of air freshener .... 2 minutes later back to the smell of rotten wood), tropical breakfast a little lacking .... for the money you pay the service was disappointing. At checkout time Ramon came to our door and demanded the key .... and walked off without a 'thanks for staying' 'safe trip' or even a goodbye. Location was good - though you'd struggle to find a bad one on the island. Very private and good snorkelling from the beach. We had a great time on Rarotonga - will definitely visit again - but won't be staying at the Raina.

Pros: on the ocean, quiet
Cons: the "kitchen"
Location: pleasant, quiet
The place is a bit old and tired, but quiet and right on the ocean. Certainly was nice and clean. Sunsets are a plus. The kitchen is not really set up to do any cooking. But it was a great place to relax and watch the ocean and swim with the fish.

Raina Lagoon Villas a tranquil paradise.Posted May 17, 2012
Pros: Peaceful, private, breathtaking views of the ocean
Location: Central to other resorts, restaurants and directly on the waters edge.
Raina Lagoon Villas is a wonderful private retreat for couples who want a quiet relaxing break in rarotonga. It is easily acesssible to other resorts and restaurants but very tranquil. Rooms are right on the sand and the waves break metres from your veranda.
