Amazing beach villas
Amazing villas with private pools. Comfortable and clean. Staff was helpful with arranging tours and being flexible about checkin and prepping for the trip.

A few ups and downs
We arrived and upon checking in we were told that our booking had been cancelled by the hotel by mistake even though I had been emailing them in the lead up to our arrival. To their credit they were able to check us in for our 4 days however this meant moving into 3 different rooms during the 4 days which wasn’t feet convenient for us but at least we had somewhere to stay. Steph was really apologetic and tried to do her best to compensate us and we were actually able to see the different types of rooms they had but it wasn’t an ideal situation. The rooms were really spacious, clean and had great amenities and were in a really good location. Only downside of the second villa we were in is that it’s totally open and some people walking along the beach would come right up to the villa and be looking in while we were inside

The owners and staff couldn’t have been any more helpful and friendly. The villas have quality bicycles, paddle boards, and kayaks that are free to use and plentiful. We will be back!

Relaxing stay at sea change
Had a lovely stay at sea change villas. They were very accommodating on our final day when they could not provide a late check-out. The villa itself was very comfortable and well equipped, and the facilities available made the stay very relaxing and easy.

Having your own private pool was wonderful in the 30 degree plus temperatures. Other than the roosters, this is a very quiet and peaceful location with good beach access. Please note, however, that if you are staying in the Lagoon View Executive Villas that claim "you can enjoy watching the breaking of the waves on the reef from the front deck" that actually due to palm trees the view is VERY limited. The basement game room was also very musty, probably due to the significant amount of rain they had before we arrived. We also killed 6 cockroaches during our stay so make sure you are okay with that too. Some advertisements for this place also indicated free wifi - this isn't true and you will need to pay for it. We would still recommend this resort as compared to many others found on the island.

As you mentioned, we are in the tropics and we do have a pest control management program at Sea Change to deal with insects that may make their way into the villas -particularly after a heavy rain. We are sorry to hear that you had a few unwanted/unexpected visitors. We are investigating which websites incorrectly mention free wifi at Sea Change and will have this rectified. We do offer a limited amount of complimentary wifi (generally 200mb) at the start of a guests' stay. From there the wifi is on a cost per use basis. We thank you for bringing this to our attention and will ensure it is corrected. This place is amazing! Spent 4 nights in a beach front villa, it was a great finish to our two week stay in the Cook Islands. Will definitely be back and stay for longer next time.

Private week at the executive lagoon villa
We have just returned from a wonderful week long retreat at the sea change villas. Kudos to the team that Beverley and Craig have put together in this little slice of paradise, they were all very welcoming, approachable and professional in all of our dealings with them and can't recommend them enough. The executive villa itself was private, very spacious, well furnished and comfortable. The outside area is secluded, well laid out and makes for an easy transition from ocean to pool.

Great waterfront villa on a beautiful island
My wife and I enjoyed staying in our large villa that provided all the amenities that we needed and more. The staff were very friendly and very helpful, which made getting oriented with the island that much easier. They were a pleasure to deal with and I appreciated that they asked for our flight details before our trip and arranged a pickup and drop-off upon my arrival and eventual departure. The staff also provided a listing of restaurants and excursions that offered inclusive transfers to, and from, our villa, which ensured we got to where we needed to go and had a ride back afterwards. The villa was spacious and well maintained. The appliances appeared to be new. The units and grounds were always clean. The accommodations included snorkelling gear, aqua shoes, kayaks, paddle boards, bikes, etc., so plenty of recreational activities to choose from. There was an in-suite kitchen and communal BBQ for those days that you chose to eat in. We enjoyed our stay and the service that the staff provided. We would definitely go back.

Do yourself a favour and stay here!!!
Stayed in Villa no 7 - what a treat. Clean, beautifully furnished with everything you need. Pleasantly surprised at arrival to see breakfast items in the fridge as well as a bottle of wine. Having my own pool was just luxury. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms are huge with double shower and lovely. The villa was pristine. You don't need a scooter - just flag the bus outside on the road.

Lovely villa right on the beach
We had one of the villas on the beach. Villa is new, comfortable and well equiped. Fridge even came with complimentary food and drink. Bed very comfortable. It was a little windy during our stay otherwise we would have spent all the time on the deck and in the pool with the lovely views.

We had a fantastic stay at Sea Change, pick up at airport was excellent, arrived late at night & flight was late, but no problem, we were picked up with a smile & refreshments. Arrived at Sea change to find a very welcome 'welcome gift', including wine, bread , eggs & much more. Met the staff the next day very helpful, organised a hire car and told us all the great things to do. Villa was very clean & had all the comforts of home. At dinnertime, some local resturants are happy to pick up & drop off, no extra charge, which meant we could really relax. The lagoon is great, very calm. We used the supplied surf ski & 3 person kayak, also had bicycles for guest use, they really thought of everything, it was a fantastic place to stay.

Peace and comfort.
We have experienced a new high in relaxing, quiet, and genuinely friendly island life. Kirsty and Paul offer a wonderful retreat from the rigours of life. Its wonderful tropical surrounds of shrubs, trees and palms merge with the hills behind. The accommodation was beautifully presented, staff were only too pleased to help and were happy to quietly chat with you. The views were WOW!!, Having come from our rocky hilly harbour basin (which has its own great character) into a coral beach front, fish life literally leaping from the water, coral snorkelling and relaxed scootering around the island, we had an absolute blast! The pool was great and warm even late in the evening. Breakfasts were lovely, fresh local fruits, cereals, and even waffles. All fresh made on the spot or by locals (try Kirsty's lime marmalade). Paul and crew keep the gardens going well, flowers, shade and sent galore. If you leave this off your list you are missing a divine experience.

Beautiful Villa close to the Beach.
Wow just amazing place to stay. From the moment we got picked up at the airport we were given cold water & a glass of champagne. Our own pool was just fabulous we could swim all hours of the day or night. Beverley was so helpful with her orientation on the first day advising on the places to eat and things to do. They do all the bookings for anything you want to do. So peaceful & quiet, no problems with roosters. Beach is just across the road great snorkelling.

Warm friendly place in paradise
Stayed five days here after spending five days at a five star villa on Aitutaki. They were both comparable to each other but I think Sea Change Villa's probably edged out the Small Luxury Hotels member on Aitutaki. Sea Change is self catering but there are plenty of good places to eat nearby and Chistina at reception was fantastic organizing bookings, rental cars etc. We stayed in Villa #5 and it was just a short walk across the road to the beach and stunning lagoon where we swam every morning. The Villa also had its own spotless private pool where we relaxed with a cool off at the end of the day. Stand up paddle boards and kayaks are provided for use free of charge along with snorkel gear. There is also a communal laundry and a portable barbecue that you can take to your villa if you just want to have an easy meal around your own pool. On the down side, being on the main island ring road it does get a little noisy during the day with traffic passing if you leave your front doors open but hey, the rest of it definitely makes up for that. Wi Fi is expensive but the whole island is expensive for that having only one provider. All up, a lovely spot to stay and I hope to be back sooner rather than later.

One of the best in Rarotonga!
One of the best villas to stay in Rarotonga. They definitely undersold what they had to offer on the website. Airport pickup included bubbly, orange juice, water and cold flannels and a good driver that informed us about the island. The villa had food in the fridge ready for us. They also had snorkel gear including aqua socks, kayaks, paddleboards, dvd's, private pool, beach towels, free local calls and laundry facilities with free washing powder. The beach was just across the road and had good snorkelling and awesome views. We would definitely recommend this villa to everyone.

Best Stay Ever!!
Hands down, this was one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had!! Everything was just perfect, starting from the clean, spacious, and extremely well-equipped villa, the countless freebies (bikes, snorkeling gear, reef shoes, paddle boats, kayaks, music CDs, DVDs, washer, dryer, etc.), to the super amazing staff. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel truly welcome!! On top of all this, we got a complimentary early check-in, a well-stocked refrigerator including bread, butter, eggs, jam, milk, orange juice, beer, and even a bottle of wine (no charge whatsoever). They even gave us a complimentary rental car on our last day -- because our flight only left at midnight and they could not offer us a late check-out as other guests were arriving. Unbelievable!!

We had more than we needed here, heaps of room, very nice place. Aside from the very persistant rooster waking us early we loved it here. Would have been only improved if there was a bar onsite!

perfect place to relax and wonderful hosts
me and my partner have just spent a week at Seachange and we loved the place! It's right on the beach, near a picture-perfect lagoon with good snorkelling. Our villa (we stayed in a 2 bedroom lagoon view villa) was really spacious and well appointed (maybe a little more things in the bathroom would make it even better, like cotton buds and little vanity sets etc). But the main asset of the place are the wonderful hosts, Craig and Beverly who go out of their way to make sure your stay memorable. On the last day my partner got taken ill and they let us stay in the room until it was time to go to the airport and Craig took us their in the car himself. They were very friendly and knowledgeable about the island. Highly recommended!

Fantastic Sea Change Villas!
The location is second to none. The facilities are fantastic and the staff are very friendly and efficient. The welcome pickup was so quick we were on our way in minutes with champagne in less time than it takes to get into a car! The view from villa 2 (of 3) is superb. Brilliant and well done!

Highly recommended secluded location
Rather than criticize the hotel I'd like to generally explain that it seems like hotels on small tropical islands simply don't have the upkeep standards of those in more populated areas. What does that mean? Mostly that things aren't perfect. We really enjoyed the hotel and there are probably none or few others on Rarotonga as nice as the Sea Changes. The location was good, the people were nice, and the overall experience is one that we would happily re-live. Expect that places like this may have things in the rooms that need to be fixed, or simply don't work. Stuff on the island is not luxury. It is a small, rather poor place and they do the best they can. Rental cars are in poor condition, and little is what I would describe as 5 star luxury. While things might be rough around the edges, the island is great. Lovely beaches, relaxing winds, and warm weather. Food is good and nothing is too expensive. Though stuff closes quite early. Going back to the Sea Changes I want to point out a few nitpicks. Some lights in the room did not work. The in-room safe was useless and have instructions that did not apply to it. Some of the ocean gear there for the guests was in less than good condition, but that was really it for complaints. Those who are used to European or American luxury will find it to be charming, relaxing, but rustic. Those who want a low-key romantic getaway and have no problems with some "character" will love the Sea Changes and the island.

Sea Change Villas - Honeymoon Heaven
My wife actually cried when we left the Sea Change Villas after the first part of our Honeymoon. We absolutely loved Villa #2! It is completely private, very well layed out with king bed, double shower, full kitchen, satellite TV, private pool, and great staff with John, Nina, and Karen!! We were at Sea Change over Christmas 2011. All pictures that you will see are really representative of the quality of the location. Right on the beach of the lagoon. Great property. No where else can compare!

Tolle Lage, direkt am Meer.
Wir hatten eine seaviewvilla mit direkten Zugang zum Wasser, ganz toll. Kühlschrank bei Ankunft für den ersten Morgen gefüllt. Sehr hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter. Insgesamt ein traumhafter Aufenthalt.

Super Selbstversorger-Hotel
Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen, vom Personal bis zur Ausstattung der Zimmer war alles perfekt. Alle sind sehr freundlich und helfen immer gerne weiter. Die Lage ist toll, es werden Kanus, Surfbretter und Schnorchelequipment kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellt. Als einziges Manko müssen wir nur sagen, dass dem Shuttlefahrer (zum Flughafen) die falsche Abholzeit mitgeteilt wurde und wir dann in der Nacht etwas in Panik geraten sind, dass wir nicht rechtzeitig an den Flughafen kommen. Es war eine knappe Geschichte, aber wir wurden dann doch noch geholt. Da so ein Fehler jedem mal passieren kann, würden wir das Hotel dennoch jedem sehr empfehlen.
