Excellent HotelPosted Feb 15, 2014
Pros: The facilities; the furnishings; the pool area; the quality of food and service.
We had a two-night stay in the hotel and stayed in a junior suite. The hotel is new and the design and quality of finish and furnishings is first-class. We would recommend the hotel for a really relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings.

Pros: Gym/staff were brilliant. staff outside concierge/front desk were all helpful and pleasant, especially the spa and business centre. Decor is brilliant
Cons: See above
Location: See above
This is an opulent hotel which only opened in August last year so teething problems were expected. We checked in quickly and were informed of better room options than we had booked via the internet. With a low occupancy rate we were offered a choice of two other rooms for an additional fee (300 dirham per night). To be fair, we accepted the upgrade but was disappointed that it was not offered free of charge. We were introduced to our personal concierge who, after showing us to our room, we never saw again. Inhouse meals were expensive, which is expected, but thought the additional cost to remove the tray was outrageous. Spa is brilliant, as are the gym facilities/instructors. Ras Al Khaimah will be an amazing place to stay in a few years time but with the amount of construction and virtually nothing to do unless you play golf or are happy to laze around the pool then this isn't the place to visit at present. If you want total relaxation then this is it. No in-house information regarding hotel facilities/how to operate lights/tvs etc/no price lists for items - this hotel needs to pay a lot more attention to finer detail which is expected from a hotel of this calibre

Christmas at the WaldorfPosted Dec 29, 2013
Pros: Service, location beach
Cons: Stated above
Location: RAK is a combination of the old and the new. The hotel region is resort type places and RAK itself has many things to tour & visit
For Christmas I took my wife and sister-in-law for a two night stay at the Waldorf in RAK. My wife and I live and work in Abu Dhabi and living in the UAE lets me visit a number of first class hotels in which I believe the Waldorf is about to become. The staff, look of the facility, beach, exercise rooms and restaurants are all 5 star level. The rooms we had was a suite and a queen size room. They were fantastic and the staff does a great job of taking care of you as did our personal Concierge, Shiny. The Lexington Grill was excellent and the breakfast buffet was very good. The hotel is open but still in a soft opening phase. The only problems we encountered was things a hotel go through for pre-openings. The elevators had some operational problems which made them slower or at times not operational for short periods of times. The other challenge was the temperature of the room showers. While the water were tepid you could not get them hot. However the showers at the exercise room was great. To me these are minor issues they can and will fix in the upcoming days and will be corrected by a formal opening. Bottom line we would recommend the hotel and with these fixes will be 5 star.

Nice Hotel even when the weather isn't so nicePosted Dec 26, 2013
Pros: The kids club was excellent as were the spa facilities. We were able to leave our kids here and get some time to relax in the spa.
Cons: Being a fairly new property, there were a few minor tweaks that had to be done by the engineering dept to get hot water or sockets working.
Location: It is an hour from Dubai so if you're visiting the UAE, you could do 2-3 days here before moving to Dubai.
The Waldorf in RAK is a stunning property. The facilities are world class and so is the service we had throughout our stay. Even though it was largely rainy and windy throughout our stay, we were still busy even though we didn't get to use the excellent poolside or beachside activities the hotel has. Well worth a visit if you ever get a chance.

A fabulous hotelPosted Nov 28, 2013
Cons: Free wifi
Location: Not much nearby other than a shopping mall.
This is a beautiful, luxurious, brand new hotel with staff that cannot do enough for you. We stayed for 6 nights and loved everything about our stay. It's not cheap to stay there but the rooms are huge and very comfortable and the food is fabulous. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast buffet, the mouth watering steak at the Lexington Grill and the sumptuous feast at Marjan. There is not much to do outside the hotel but if you are looking for a relaxing, pampered week in the sun then treat yourself to a stay here. We will definitely go back.

A great hotel with some way to goPosted Nov 12, 2013
Pros: Friendliness of staff , large rooms and huge pool
Cons: Check out procedure and luggage collection
Once we found the hotel (still needs road signage) the first impression was definitely a big WOW Check in was fast considering we were early and it was the Eid holidays and rooms are large and well decorated Food and facilities were excellent and staff very European and friendly Only down side was leaving We checked out at the designated time of 12 noon and paid the bill We then waited for our bags to be collected from the room but after half an hour gave up and went for lunch as we had two young children with us We did however make it clear to the reception staff that we had vacated the room and were going for lunch and to please ensure our bags were collected.. a simple request you would think... However, after two hours and waiting with two children of three and one for a further 45 minutes outside the entrance of the hotel...our bags still had not managed to get from the 4th floor to the front door I even offered to go and get them myself but a very flustered manager told me it was under control but that it was actually my fault as the Do not disturb sign had been left on in the room, and as a result the luggage had not been collected We could have enjoyed a few more hours by the pool as the hotel was obviously not interested in people checking out on time or servicing the room.

Nice and NewPosted Oct 21, 2013
Pros: The ambience is deluxe and beautiful sea view. Great escape from the city.
Cons: Inadequate and disappointing service, not up to Waldorf Astoria level and don’t compliment the premises, overpriced restaurants, and concierge
Location: A small mall, sailing, fishing, and crab hunting.
Nice new hotel, beautiful beach and landscape. Exquisite swimming pools with private gazeboes , certainly one of the best in the region. Outdoors atmosphere is enjoyable. There is privacy on one side and the lively side filled with music, bar, gazebos, in huge pools.

the hotel is amazingPosted Oct 17, 2013
Pros: all the rooms, lobby, restaurants, pool
Cons: I believe the speed of check out and check, we stayed one hour to check out due to some wrong bills posted to our room
Location: ice land water park
Great hotel, beautiful experience, the stuff working in the hotel is very well trained, super helpful and very nice people, I was impressed with a waiter (which unfortunately I do remember his name) he is tall, red and curly hair, really, really nice. The rooms are amazing the pool is great.
