Great value!Posted Nov 26, 2013
Pros: It was clean and quiet.
Cons: The towels were a little worn but nothing that would prevent me from giving this a very good rating. The couch was a little outdated.
Location: Located right off I-25 and near many restaurants, gas stations and other services. Downtown Raton is just minutes away.
Let's face it, 59.00 doesn't buy much these days when it comes to a hotel so my expectations were pretty low. Although this hotel has some age, the rooms are very clean and spacious and far from a "dive" that you might expect for this kind of money located right off of I-25. There was a fridge and microwave to boot. This property delivered everything I needed. Inexpensive, warm, clean, quiet, friendly staff, decent bed and clean linens. For about 60.00, you'd be hard pressed to find a better deal in Raton. I'll stay here again.

Good deal for price.Posted Nov 7, 2013
Pros: Very roomy with a frig and microwave.
Cons: Need to get new twels. The ones they have are thread bare.
ALTHOUGH THIS HOTEL IS OBVIOUSLY OLD IT IS CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE AND A GOOD VALUE FOR THE PRICE.

Friendly Staff and Clean RoomsPosted Aug 23, 2013
Pros: Staff, cleanliness, room size. Free and speedy wifi.
Cons: Update the TVs.
Location: Beautiful location at the gateway to the Rockies.
ABVI is a nice place to stay on an overnight trip. It's quiet, the staff is helpful and friendly, and the rooms are clean. As others have noted this motel has seen its glory days but they keep the very large rooms maintained and clean. Great place especially for a one night stay on a road trip.

One week stay while visiting relatives.Posted Aug 15, 2013
Pros: Reasonable price. Two sinks in bathroom. Air conditioning and Wi-Fi. Continental breakfast.
Cons: Could have vending machines that worked. It would have been nice to have the pool open in summer. Most of all the Wi-Fi signal needed to be stronger.
Location: Central location & near highway. Near good restaurants. Not much to do in Raton. There is a golf course if you play golf. Historic buildings to see.
Positives: The price was reasonable and this hotel is American Owned. There are a few much nicer hotels in the area but you will pay at least twice as much to stay there. Our room was nice with 2 queen beds, T.V., refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, ironing board, air conditioner and hair dryer. The bathroom had a long counter with 2 sinks giving plenty of room for 2 people. The tub/shower was nice and easy to use with a heat lamp in the ceiling. We ended up with a courtyard room which made it easy to park in front of our room and walk in. There are many restaurants and fast food places near by. The continental breakfast is simple but adequate - coffee, tea, juice, cereal, instant oatmeal, toast, packaged pastries and fresh fruit. Negatives: The hotel offers free Wi-Fi but it is weak and undependable. We needed the Wi-Fi and changed our room 3 times trying to find one with a strong enough signal to make it usable. The "Luxury rooms" are down a hall way but they aren't any nicer than the courtyard rooms and the hallway has a musty odor. There are vending machines in this hall way but they don't work. There is a swimming pool on the premises but it wasn't opened.

would returnPosted Jun 1, 2013
Pros: Price was good for such a large comfortable room.
Location: Close to Highway, but still quiet.
Wasn't sure about this motel when we pulled in. It looks old. The deluxe room we booked was very large and comfortable. It was more than we thought it would be. Very nice and quiet. The check-in was odd; I think the desk clerk was having a bad day. She wasn't unpleasant; just not very welcoming. Despite that, we would stay here again.

Pros: Quiet, secure, friendliness of staff, and a sufficient breakfast buffet.
Cons: Age of carpet in room.
Location: Very conveniently located nearby several chain restaurants.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was average, would definitely stay again on any return trips thru this area.

Good value for the money.Posted Feb 19, 2013
Pros: Nice size to room
Cons: Older model tv but it worked
Location: Center of town, not far from freeway and restaurants
All in all, a pretty comfortable for the money providing a basic breakfast. Staff was congenial and we had no problems with tv, hot water, or anything.
