we were not sure what to expect from this hotel since there were no reviews but we were extremely happy with it. the hardest part was at first getting to it but we saw where we erred and was enroute from the train station. the room was clean, comfortably and had plenty of hot water. the breakfast was very good with a variety of things to try. there was a pizzeria and a wine ba next door and also another down the hill. if you are driving there is parking and if coming off the train go out front turn left to pedestrian underwalk and then turn left as you come up the stairs. go to sidewalk turn right and head to the hotel. you can see it from there. free wifi if you have your own equipment.

Excellent all-around

The hotel is a bit trickier to find than it appears on the map (arriving by train, you have to exit the front of the station and use an underpass about half-a-block to the left, then come up the other side of the train tracks and walk 2 blocks back to the left till you see a sail-like structure with the name MOSAICO). But even after all that (in the rain, in February), it turned out to be very much worth the trouble to find it. Hotels.com had no reviews on Hotel Mosaico, but we took a chance, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The staff were extremely conscientious and courteous, rooms were clean and well-appointed; the breakfast buffet was excellent. And there's a little pizzeria just behind the hotel that uses a wood-fired oven to make the best pizza and calzone (at the best price) we had on our whole 2-week trip to Italy. We highly recommend taking at least a whole day to explore Ravenna; Hotel Mosaico is THE place from which to take in the city's amazing mosaics.

Hotel in Ravenna

Hotel Mosaico was fine for our overnight stay in Ravenna - rooms were comfortable although the beds were extremely hard. Not within walking distance of the centre of the old part of town but fine if you have a car.

Camere molto pulite, ottimo servizio, parcheggio privato e prezzi concorrenziali. Soggiornero' lì nuovamente al mio ritorno a Ravenna.

Comfortable stay

The room was small but comfortable. There was a view towards the fort although interrupted by the railway. The breakfast was pleasant and acceptable for a vegetarian although I missed wholemeal bread. Unfortunately the hotel was not easy to find. When I asked someone the road the hotel was on was unknown to the vendor at the station. I had to go to the information to be given a map. It would have been preferable if a map of Ravenna had been displayed at the station.
